Seriously what's the point?

I managed 3 minutes tonight before turning off, it could be the World Cup final and it'd feel like a training game.

Just suspend the fecking lot if you're gonna start with this nonsense.

It's terrible to watch, you think they would have fake audience noise like they do when they record TV shows at least.

Really has the feeling of those shit pre-season games on a dodgy stream.

It’s definitely weird but crowd noise isn’t the reason we watch football so turning it off is even weirder.

Who would of thought fans would matter that much. Feels odd without them.

Yeah very strange to turn it off.
I play and watch football every week with about five people watching.

It does seem madness to keep this going though, suspending it totally is surely the obvious thing to do

HELLO
I think it's shit because the commentators become much more prominent. It's like you're sitting beside Savage in a pub at he's incessantly talking for 90 minutes.

Obviously it’s part of the reason I watch, absolutely.

Larsson, what the feck does playing with no fans have to do with anything?
You turned a Man Utd game off because it sounded weird.
I'm saying every week football matches are played around the country with less people than is in that stadium tonight and it's still a game of football.

To turn it off seems a very weird thing to do

I think it’s pretty sweet to watch on TV. It’s neat to hear the players/staff shouting to each other.

"Sounded weird".... that's not what I said at all.

I'm fine nipping down to Sollentuna and watching my old club live in front of 70 people. Watching United in an empty stadium just feels shite and I can't get into it.

If you think that's weird, good on you, I think you're weird keeping watching.

Feels like I’m watching my local Sunday league club play, but better standard.

It is strange, yes.

I'm not bothering with it. No crowd and a tournament that may well never be completed.

It's a training session.

Yeah, I also wish the loudest fans determined the outcome. The football is secondary.

Posted in the match threat but applies here. Fan experience plays a massive part in lifting the smaller teams to compete against bigger teams. No fans to do that and I'd bet we would see so much more consistency from the big sides and they become a lot more routine.

This at least should be a message to the powers that be, football is about the atmosphere generated by the crowd. The game lacks any proper passion, even worse we have to listen more to Darren Fletcher on BT who must be the most boring commentator ever. The only plus side is that at least the co-commentator isn't McManaman.

If you have ever watched reserve football it can be very similar and you get used to it pretty quickly.

Ah I don’t know about you but I watch football on tv for the game not to see who’s in the crowd

There's 10 hours of vuvuzela sounds on youtube, for some proper WC atmosphere.

Doesn't bother me too much as I watch youth and reserve games when it's like this or not much better.

Obviously it's not ideal and certainly long term it's not viable but if that's the bullet I have to bite so I don't go six months without being able to watch Chelsea then so be it, never realised how much I've took it for granted in recent years and certainly won't be doing so again once this nightmare is over.

I like it! Puts the game in a different perspective when you can hear the shouts and how crisp the pros strike the ball even with a simple pass.
