That's not really how it works. I'd bet Ole's dream was to manage Man United, he's done that so his dream evolves into being successful with Man United and if he's not, he won't be happy.
There's no way in a million years Frank's thinking that he's achieved what he wanted to as a manager just because he had the Chelsea job for 18 months.
Top sportsmen like Frank or Ole were and are always looking to be the best they can (they might not do it but they try) rather than hit a particular goal and then be done.
Its not quite what I meant. Ole has managed his boyhood Norwegian team, took a crack at the prem (probably with the intention of gaining the attn of United) and finally got the United job.
I imagine both Gerrard and Rooney have ultimate eyes on Liverpool and Everton.
What im asking is. These guys are selective, do they want to move around middling teams all their career; or is it about reaching those prized roles.
Lampard achieved that and failed. My question is does he want to start again at a Palace or Celtic (If lucky) and then maybe get the Leicester gig or such. Or does he just throw the towel in and earn a wedge as a sky pundit?
Would the Gerrards, Lampards, Rooneys be happy with an average managerial track record?
I think if and when it ends for Ole, he'll disappear again - ultimately maybe getting some sort of role at United.
