Deepthroating information to Howard Nurse.

Is this what people are losing their shit over? Right now he has no intention to leave. When Barcelona offer up the suitcase containing his deferred payments his intentions will change. The moment is coming muppets. Patience.

Pretty damn sure neither of them want to damage their reputation with EtH. The agent too, i'm certain he doesn't want to damage his relationship with the club, not when he has other clients here. Plus it's of no benefit to him to lie to us. Barca won't drop their pay cut demand, and de Jong won't accept it
Exactly. But it always amazes me that people like Romano knows how Frenkie is feeling, just not the people who actually know him...ten Hag! Haha

Thing is, Romano knows he's got a HUGE following of United fans, and he'll do anything to keep them hooked. He could say United are signing the second coming of Jesus as a new goalie and people would believe without question and beg for updates

Frenkie will not sign if he don’t want to. It’s as simple as that. If he signs for us he’ll give his best, no doubt about it. I think this is 95% on and I can’t wait to see him boss the midfield and transform us into a European superpower again. No pressure though.

It’s a weird situation to be fair, this option is always there. What if he just…stays?

Well... he single handly destroys the club and means that they can't register all their new shiny players. He also cripples them wage budget wise. Why do you think they're pushing very very hard to get him out

So yeah... nothing too serious i suppose

If we're running with the narrative of United are chasing a player that doesn't want to come here, then I'm pretty pi**ed off we never went after Håland.

If the option becomes sitting on the Barca bench with Kessie, Busquets, Gavi and Pedri ahead of him in the pecking order, or actually playing games for United and he chooses to stay at Barca to pick up the wages he’s owed then bollocks to him.

You kinda get the feeling that Romano is the god, the almighty untouchable transfer guru.
Yes he's got a lot right, but as others have pointed out, a lot of the times, he just confirms what others have said with a Here we go haha. Not going to lie, i do rate him, but when you have reporters who are very close to the club saying something very different, it's hard to believe Romano
I think that Romano’s problem is that because he’s become ‘Mr Transfers’ he’ll get bombarded every minute of every day with people asking for updates and when it’s big clubs, United especially, it’ll be even worse, so he probably feels that he needs to say something.

He clearly has some contacts in the game, but I don’t think he has contacts at United, which is why his updates concerning us seem to be repetitive

This is such a saga that goes round and round. Every few hours Romano changes the narrative.

Why doesn’t he tweet it as well instead of saying it on YouTube?

Dont think that is an option. He will stay for July, but in August, he will change his opinion, unless Barca can find money in another way. Considering the midfield they have, their spending and the amount they have to pay him plus missing out on a big fee, this is unlikely that they will be happy to just keep him.

Yeah he's calling their bluff. And it is a bluff because there is fek all Barca can do to make him stay on reduced wages. They either pay up and get rid or pay up even more and keep. Hopefully and most likely the former.

The one thing you can be 100% certain of is that his statement that he is staying can in any way be taken at face value.

Not sure he thinks signing the likes of Christensen etc should take priority over his future and being forced to uproot to Manchester?
Not saying this is true, I’ve come around to the signing being made but is it far fetched that De Jong can simply say sell someone else then?

Again building up the narrative that when he leaves for United it's because of the money. They're showing how much the "love" de Jong at Barca and that if he truly loved the club back he'd take a pay cut and remain with the club. When he does leave, they can say he's a mercenary etc

In the real world do you even comprehend how much flak he would get from the club and supporters if he took such a stance.

I do question if some of you work in real jobs or communicate with people sometimes.

Correct. The balls on Barca to be playing hard ball in the state that they are in and trying to convince players to take paycuts at the same time as they are making 75mn transfers.

Not far fetched but it won't fix the issue for Barca. His salary would be huge anyway but if he stays they have to start paying the deferred wages back on top of his actual salary and that would mean paying him around 500,000 a week which destroys the new wage scale they are implementing. Selling other players could in theory bring in a similar fee if you sold the right ones but they would need to get 4 or 5 out of the door to save the same amount in wages. The bottom line is that Barca cannot and will not pay him to stay as due to the La Liga rules around the salary cap they literally will not be able to register Kessie, Christensen, Raphina etc. and keep FDJ on the books.

Players have stayed at clubs and backed themselves before. Imo the entire De Jong goes or no signings is propaganda in itself and you are all falling for it.
Sell Pedri, Sell Gavi, hell throw in Depay as well to even up the wages. Why is that not as far fetched as selling a star like De Jong?
Selling De Jong isn’t the only answer it’s made out to be.
Or. Shock horror, don’t buy expensive players when you’re in the financial shit? I’m sure your real job doesn’t assume, with all your fancy communication, by spending money hoping they have more coming in when it’s such a huge risk that it won’t?
Do they understand constructive dismissal at your so called job if these jobs exist?

By saying he doesnt want to leave Barcelona. Did you watch Romanos video?
Beckham didn’t want to leave United, but did want to join Madrid.
It’s not so black & white.
Seems clear he’d prefer to stay and get paid in a perfect World, but unless we think our new manager is a moron, if that doesn’t work out then he does want to join up with him again at Old Trafford.

None of the players you mention make a fraction of what they owe FDJ and they are also a key part of Barca's future plans. So to answer you yes it is far fetched and frankly never going to happen. Frenkie is not staying to back himself, he is digging in to make sure he gets the 17M that Barca owe him. They want him gone, he is not in their plans but the cheapskate bastards are trying to force him to waive the money they owe him on the way out of the door and he is not going to do it. If they sold Pedri and Gavi not only does it not fix the problem but the Barca fans would riot. FDJ is the apple of our eye but most Barca fans are actually not that bothered as he has been played out of position and doesn't fit Xavi's plans.
