Didn‘t actually know that, so that teletubbie thing on his bonce must be there to hide his receding rug?
Yes. In the beginning you could see cracks exposing a full bald head. He got that fixed somehow, world class hairdresser, extensions who knows, and now he never takes that thing off in public.

Im sure he has enough dosh for hair plugs. Maybe tough to fit appointments into his busy golf schedule.

Wasn't that very much expected?
Always seemed clear to me that he would end his career after his contract at Real ends.
I’ve never asked him tbh.

He’ll play in the states or somewhere else though in my opinion.

The mirror make this sound like it's something crazy

Gareth Bale is planning to retire from club football next summer but could still play for Wales at the 2022 World Cup.

So basically he'll retire from club football at the end of the season, play for Wales in the WC straight afterwards and then probably retire completely. Ironically didn't Zidane retire after an international tournament as well?

It would even be mid season wouldn’t it? With the winter WC

Yeah - it’s a shocking idea
Yeah after the WC was democratically awarded to Qatar due to their outstanding facilities. Shame the average temperature in June/July is about 50 degrees -hence winter WC.
so what the feck are they doing about the domestic season? Can't believe this is the first I'm hearing about this

Yeah i'm not buying that.

Too much money to be made and he clearly still has flashes of the talent that made him World Class. He was brilliant in an average Spurs team in the last couple of months.

I can buy that he'll quit European football and go to China or USA. But not Club football completely.

Really wish we'd signed the bastard in 2007 or 2013.
No way. The culture difference from UK to Spain was too much for him to handle, for sure he won't move to China.

US could be an option. Somewhere like Florida where he will spend all day swimming and playing golf.

Would love to see him go out like in a memorable way like Zidane, red card for a headbutt or a similar offence and then still get a ban even though he has retired anyway.

A lot of Cardiff fans I speak to are convinced he will play his final season with his hometown club. The bookies also have Cardiff as short favourites as Bales next club
If he's genuinely not arsed about playing past the 2022 WC (assuming Wales qualify), then you might see him turn out for Cardiff for the first half of the season to keep his fitness levels up. I know a fair few Cardiff fans that are utterly convinced that's where he's heading next, some even think as soon as this summer.

If he really is on 600k a week, why not retire, I imagine he’s got a few Bob saved up.

Why should he? He has one year left on an absolutely insane contract, Real Madrid aren't interested in playing him and he can pretty much just focus on staying fit for the World Cup. Bonus factor in terms of annoying the feck out of the higher ups at the club + the fans.

I could definitely see him and Real reaching a payoff deal on the last year and him deciding to do a passion project like Cardiff.

Getting them up would probably mean more to him than playing another season in the CL with another club. He has already done it all.

There will be a international break for the Nations League (Matchday 5+6) in September 2022......but no international break in October 2022 and no international breaks in March & June 2023 therefore the domestic seasons will finish under normal circumstances.

'Passion project' sounds like an 80s porno.

The article says he will see out his co tract with Real and then retire - so yes I agree sit back for another season on 600k a week and then relax!

Am I remembering right: did they not block a move to China that would have got him something like a million a week? so now he is just going to sit things out. Bet they wish they had let him go what with the pandemic and all. Look at Barcelona....
