I'm really surprised that Marinakis of all people would be getting offended by a statement like that.

I mean, I feel like the threat of legal action from Nottingham Forrest is about as threatening as Antony on the right wing.Tweet

Good. About time the utter garbage him and Sky spout every week catches up with them.
To be fair...That took a bit of a weird turn
What the feck is actually wrong with him? Ffs have some self regard you moron. You were a brilliant right back. Trent isn’t even good enough to lace your boots as a whole especially as a defender.
He's been like that for a while, he talks about his career as if he was fortunate to be there and doesn't give himself enough credit. Sure he wasn't a generational talent but he was a solid RB for many years in most aspects of the game, defensively and providing width going forward. It happens to a lesser extent but I think Roy Keane downplays himself quite a bit too, I've heard him talk down how he was as a player too. What the feck is actually wrong with him? Ffs have some self regard you moron. You were a brilliant right back. Trent isn’t even good enough to lace your boots as a whole especially as a defender.
It’s not self deprecating anymore. The idiot is genuinely trying to convince himself and others that he was Ali dia of RB’s who conned his way up to the very top and fooled everyone including Sir Alex to play for Manchester United for almost 2 decades. He’s an annoying person. I’ll give him that much.
Agreed. It's pathetic cry baby behaviour.Forest are a proper bunch of grasses aren't they. They're like that kid at school who gets his mum to write a letter to the headteacher because he thinks he's being picked on by the other teachers, when in fact it's all in his head. Hope they go down.
It's not the legal threat he should be worried about. Marinakis is indeed a mobster, and he's heavily implicated in the Noor1 case.I mean, I feel like the threat of legal action from Nottingham Forrest is about as threatening as Antony on the right wing.
It's his thing now to endear himself to the public. Guy was first choice United and England RB for years but acts like he was Alex Buttner. What the feck is actually wrong with him? Ffs have some self regard you moron. You were a brilliant right back. Trent isn’t even good enough to lace your boots as a whole especially as a defender.

That's typical Gary. Same with his commentary on United. He tries so much to show that he is unbiased, that he goes the other way. What the feck is actually wrong with him? Who is Gary to tell Mark Clattenberg to resign? It's ludicrous. It's this need to always dramatise and over-sensationalise every incident in the game from Gary that I find irksome.Do people really want or expect pundits to talk purely about what happens on the pitch and not the stuff that happens off the field in football?
It's commentating on stuff in the football world. Same as if pundits call for boards to sack managers or fine players or whatever.Who is Gary to tell Mark Clattenberg to resign? It's ludicrous. I think we expect objectivity. They have been pushing this agenda all season and Sky get to have referees on their showDo people really want or expect pundits to talk purely about what happens on the pitch and not the stuff that happens off the field in football?
He is there to give an opinion.I think we expect objectivity. They have been pushing this agenda all season and Sky get to have referees on their show
When have you ever seen Gary or another pundit call for a manager to be sacked? It never happens. It's commentating on stuff in the football world. Same as if pundits call for boards to sack managers or fine players or whatever.
And he is getting the "opinions" on him hereHe is there to give an opinion.
1. When have you ever seen Gary or another pundit call for a manager to be sacked? It never happens.
2. But more than that - why is Gary telling Mark Clattenberg, who's employed by Nottingham Forest, to resign?
Which is its ok to come and moan about the ref on a Sky interview but not on Twitter. OkHe is there to give an opinion.
1. Who and when?1. Yes.
2. He gave his reasons why.
Rio said Ole should lose his job. Lots said Potter should be sacked etc.1. Who and when?
2. Which were?
I assume he is saying that it's fine to moan about poor refereeing but to insinuate cheating crosses the line. I think that's fair enough as an opinion.Which is its ok to come and moan about the ref on a Sky interview but not on Twitter. Ok
I think he can still be good on things like the Overlap but I'm not sure why people expect anything but drama when it's a match event. That's the whole point of what Sky wants in the pre-match and post-match chats.I used to think Neville was a decent pundit when he first started but ( like many ) he's turned into a right Sky shill these days.
No that isn’t what he said. He said the manager should say it on Sky and pay the fine. The club shouldn’t go and say it on social media and take action, he also was referring to Arsenal and Pool.I assume he is saying that it's fine to moan about poor refereeing but to insinuate cheating crosses the line. I don't recall Rio saying Ole should lost his job. When did he say this?Rio said Ole should lose his job. Lots said Potter should be sacked etc.
He risks losing credibility amongst other referees by standing by the Forest statement and questioning the integrity of officials and insinuate cheating.
I don't agree with everything Neville says but the job of a pundit isn't to just talk about what happens on the pitch, it's to speak about everything and to give your opinion of it.
He said on vibe with five and then said on TNT too. Did it in a way of trying to be as respectful as possible about it but said it nonetheless.I don't recall Rio saying Ole should lost his job. When did he say this?
And specifically, when has Gary himself called for a manager to be sacked?
Clattenberg is literally employed by Notttingham Forest...do you think he's going to go against his employer's wishes?
Right, but his broader point was that he thinks moaning about poor refereering is fine but insinuating cheating is not.No that isn’t what he said. He said the manager should say it on Sky and pay the fine. The club shouldn’t go and say it on social media and take action, he also was referring to Arsenal and Pool.
There's a huge difference between a player is cheating to help their own side and a ref cheating to help a side.On the topic of "questioning the integrity" and "insinuate cheating" accusation on the Forest tweet, isn't every commentator looking at a tumble in the box and saying "Not much in that" or "Has easily gone to ground", questioning the integrity of the player and calling him a cheat?
Think it is a bit over the top to suddenly be horrified and start using words like mafia and stuff about it.
That not what I got from it. He hardly mentioned insinuating cheating. Also IMO he is wrong on that anyway. Calling out conflicts of interest is perfectly valid.Right, but his broader point was that he thinks moaning about poor refereering is fine but insinuating cheating is not.
I'll take your word for it re Rio, because I cba to check. He said on vibe with five and then said on TNT too. Did it in a way of trying to be as respectful as possible about it but said it nonetheless.
I never said Gary did, I specifically spoke about pundits in general as they are employed to give their opinions.
By all means give an opinion. Calling them a mafia, saying someone should resign because the club is unhappy with officiating is just dumb (from Gary). Like I said, he has a habit of overdramatising pretty much everything these days, and it's why so many people find him insufferable.Who knows what Clattenberg would, should or could do. The point is that Neville is giving his opinion on something in the world football which was my point in the first place.
He says it in his discussion with Saha and Carragher. That not what I got from it. He hardly mentioned insinuating cheating. Also IMO he is wrong on that anyway. Calling out conflicts of interest is perfectly valid.
He's called for Woodward to lose his job or questioned why he hasn't before too If I recall.I'll take your word for it re Rio, because I cba to check.
But Gary hasn't really told anyone to resign...other than an employee of a club who's criticising VAR.
