RW and LW, as all players we have now are shite/inconsistent/not an actual/don't want to play as wingers.

There I said it. Unless Ole will change the system to 4-3-1-2 or using False 9 ala Liverpool, we need new 2 wingers.

I'd love to see us play with Ribery - Robben style on the wings.

Mr Molde expects the likes of lingard and young to return from summer well versed in the art of playing football

Mr Molde is good, but he ain't miracle worker.

Well those were his words not mine. He expects miracles to happen between the end of the season and the preseason

Not really. Martial/Rashford should be good enough options there, though they both need to crack on next season. One of the areas we least need to strengthen to be honest

I was brought up on watching two wingers at United, from Gordon Hill & Stevie Coppell to Ryan Giggs & Ronaldo, there's nothing to beat it when you get the balance right, unfortunately there's been a few stinkers as well (Ralph Milne - Bebe)but I support the principle, but out of interest what formation allows it to work best ? 4-4-2 ? 4-1-4-1 ? 4-5-1 ?

Rashford is needed upfront, which leaves us with Martial, a former player, a mid EPL table winger and chong. We do need 2 wingers. Unfortunately since players aren't sponsors we would be lucky if we get 1

We should definitely have the option, at least off the bench of playing two proper wingers hugging the line, bombing on and slinging crosses in.

I’m looking forward to Ole building an exciting team, trophies will follow with longevity. This is a proper project with attacking football embedded in the brief.

I like the way Bayern of "old". 4-2-3-1 with Ribery - Muller - Robben behind Lewa. Although a proper 4-4-2 is good also, but it's rare two have those proper Giggs-Beckham wingers nowadays.

A left winger is certainly no priority just now. We need a right winger to fill the gaping hole in our team there, a centre midfielder to replace the outgoing Herrera and a right back to replace Young as Solskjaer is refusing to go with Dalot there.

I don’t disagree with your point though really. Having Martial (or Rashford/ Sanchez) operating there means that the question of how comfortable he is in that position will likely not go away. A natural left winger wouldn’t go amiss.

More broadly, having Rashford and Martial (or Lukaku if he forces his way in) as our starting left and central attacking options doesn’t really inspire confidence. They are good players but how far away they are from Rooney and Ronaldo just underlines how far away this side is from some of the past United teams. Again, hoping we address these areas in the transfer market in the upcoming window should be a bit of a non-starter with what we need elsewhere, though the idea of bringing in a top class performer in attack is always tempting.

I hope it's one of SAF moment when he told reporters as idiots when questioned Veron, then sold him in the next Summer.

Plenty of options potentially available
Sancho
Hudson odoi
Bale
Brandt
Bailey
Chiesa
Sessegnon
Lozano

And if we wanted to play a 10 behind martial and rashford
Dybala
Isco
Havertz
João Felix

Provided we have a big budget this summer it should be perfectly possible to get one or two of this lot

When did he say that? A case of just reading what you want to read?

Yup. Ole did say "Anyone who plays for United has to deliver. It's down to the players, the ownership they take coming back for pre-season". Meaning, if they show up like lazy fat cnuts they won't be in the squad. But the doom and gloom squad on here interpret that differently of course.

Which makes you wonder how many preseasons must they play before we accept that these gentle men are not good enough?

Well Fellaini & Valencia have already been denied a pre-season and do you honestly think 3-4 more players won’t be added to that list?

Those that are left, be it Greenwood, Chong, Rashford or Matic will then have to show the hunger in pre-season. Isn’t that what anyone would expect?

You might have not noticed but we only have 1 half decent winger in the team. Therefore
If chong and greenwood were good enough then they would have already been playing. Ole had also the opportunity to play dalot but he preferred young instead. Meanwhile tuanzebe is still on loan while Jones was given a long term contract

We are banking on a youth academy who has produced just 1 WC player since the class of 92 to bail us out which is funny considering that the class of 92 themselves admit that they wouldn't have made it if the likes of keane and Co weren't around. Who are the keanes, the cantona and the irwins in the squad? Ps that 1 wc player needed to join Juventus to become the player he is now

Oh well we all know the lingo. Ole will be sacked once it becomes evident that this squad is too shit to succeed and we will bring a manager who will first talk big (survival of the best and the fittest). Then the club would give yet another contract to the likes of Jones and the new manager would be made to settle for an extra 'year' with this tripe which will end up getting him sacked

In my opinion he’s not even close.

Well, I think Lozano is a bit overrated and Ødegaard underrated, so I guess we are pretty far from each other on this one.

Marcel Brands, who brought Lozano to PSV and are now director of football at Everton, recently said that he would not consider bringing in Lozano to Everton for more than €20 mill and claimed the valuation of €30 mill as way too high. Furthermore, he said he felt more safe about Richarlison at a higher fee.

Truth. Also if we keep Shaw we definitely need a LW. He doesn't offer enough going forward to play on the same side as a wide forward. We'd then have proper competition for the CF position

That was my next point, what two wingers are available ? Sancho & Hudson Odoi would cost a bomb and probably unavailable to US. Costa ? Bailey ? Lozano ? Chiesa ? Maybe on the market but not a sure fire thing, Coman, Asensio, Sane, etc would be less risk but also unavailable, with our recruitment policy we'd probably end up with Perisic and Willian !

Then let’s just buy the old Bayern and have geriatrics on the wings!

We have 200 million to spend and everyone wants Sancho and Koulibaly. So that's it then, 2 players costing even more than we supposedly have to spend. Are these 2 players going to make us Champions next season, and in a couple of years we will probably need to replace Koulibaly as he will be 28 this year.

What's the point in getting Koulibaly when he has signed a new contract? The time to get him was last season, he'll be even more expensive now.

I suppose when you flutter between United and Juve depending on whose winning, you're always going to have a squad problem to moan about.

For the record, Juve have dross on their books too.

Juve sign cast offs from other clubs like Khedira, Costa, and so on.

Lichtsteiner came to the EPL and totally bombed it and lost his starting spot for Arsenal.

The point I am making is we need to try and combine quality with quantity and spend this money wisely. We need 4/5 players not just 2.

Lozano is not near the level United should be looking at, vastly overrated player in my opinion

Let’s move away from these expensive but still not good enough signings, but break the bank for true potential and players that immediately improve our first XI

What are you on about?

"The players deserve to get the chance to come in for pre-season and show what they’re capable of. Are they fit enough? Are they hungry enough? Do they want this enough? Do they want to give everything to the team? Or do they think only about themselves?"

It seems that after so many years in failing our players still deserve a chance.

Right, and what does that have to do with Lingard or Young? Those are the basic standards he expects of his players. There has been enough talk of change (players needing a reality check and mention of a re-build) from Solskjaer to suspend this sort of whinging.

Selling Fellaini was one of the first moves Solskjaer made after coming in, and Valencia hasn't played for us since January either. At least give him the opportunity to make further changes before coming to daft conclusions.

I think that we had enough game time to identify which players stays and which players leave, he doesn't need preseason to do that. Also how can anyone take this seriously when the likes of Jones and Young keep getting contracts and we had already ruled out signing more then 4-5 players?

I suspect we've got far more dross then they do. Basically most of the team. Yet here we are, talking about 4 players max, hoping players coming from preseason hungry and transformed and that the youth academy who had produced just 1 WC player since the class of 92 bailing us out.
