gfycat / HTML5 gifs

Can gfycat embedding be supported? They are generally so much quicker to load than gifs

I remember Damien had done a test in the general once and it worked in desktop view but not on chrome/ios mobile

But it does work on reddit mobile etc, so perhaps it can be tried again with different configurations?

Yeah it's been on my list since your original post. I looked into it but for whatever reason it wasn't quite as straight forward to install as other media types. I'll try again when I have time.

Have you looked into WebM as that is essentially what Gfycat uses?
