Let's just combine the euros, premier and champions league and declare one team undisputed champions.

How would that work? People play for both club and national teams. i don't think you have thought this through.

Every game left to play consists of penalty shootouts. Each club is taking them from their own training ground.

It would get it over quickly and fitness would be taken out of the equation after 14 days of isolation.

Playoff format for the top 8 teams ( @Arsenal) with seeding determining the opponent and home field (1-8, 2-7, 3-6, 4-5). Relegation matches for the bottom six teams. West Ham and Brighton with a bye. Possible three matches in a two-week span.

Some serious ideas...

Extend to a two year (76 game) season beginning from last August, bunch up the fixtures as appropriate to end on schedule in May ‘21.

Start next season with the current teams in their current leagues, but points for fixtures which were incomplete in the 19/20 season are awarded for 20/21 and 19/20 retrospectively. Teams who would have been relegated/promoted in both seasons do so. Any mismatch in the number of teams promoted vs relegated is mitigated giving priority to a teams position in 19/20.

Begin next season with the current roster of teams delaying relegation/promotion, and begin each fixture with the 19/20 score as the aggregate (0-0 for incomplete fixtures).

Have a play-off between the current relegation and promotion placed teams at the beginning of August then start next season fresh.

Stop the season now, and start the new one when we can, taking the current results into account. So eg Liverpool start with whatever points margin they have.

Flip the table.

Liverpool, Man City and Leicester relegated (sorry Leicester).
Norwich win it.

Sorry, but I have issues with Liverpool starting a brand new PL season with a 22 point lead. Like, a lot of issues.

Postpone the Euros until 2021.
Play the rest of the league and cup games through June and July (if it's safe to by then).
Let players have normal amount of time off for their holidays.
Start the leagues again in October and run through until June/July and keep that as the new league timescale.
Euros and World Cups played in August and September.

Cancel the 2020/21 season before it starts. Use whatever available time to finish the league seasons, continental competitions and domestic cups, in that priority. If there is still time left, schedule the Euros.

If there is still time left after that, allow clubs to arrange international friendlies amongst themselves, either for goodwill or for profit.

If it is still not safe to restart the fixtures this time next year, then declare the current season null and void. By then, we would have much bigger things to worry about.

Play the remaining fixtures as penalty shoot outs over a weekend or two in the summer at Wembley behind closed doors. Think of the ratings and the laughs...

Each team elects someone from their side to enter a PL talent show. As all the footballers are bored during the quarantine they'll have learnt a few skills so let's see who has learnt the best one. My money is on Tom Davies and his new fashion collection that he will be working on.

Simple question, give me a "so crazy it might work" idea for everyone else to poke holes in.

( This is assuming finishing this season would cut into next season.)

I would finish this season (Inc. Cups) at whatever point football can start again. Then next season I'd cut all league's in half based on finishing positions from last year...so you'd basically have 8 mini leagues. This will give teams in the top half league things to play for (Europe /Promotion /play offs) whilst the bottom half league fights to avoid relegation, and the winner of it is also awarded a spot in Europe /the play offs)

There, I just solved football.
Shit in handbags?

Whatever decision they decide will be a hard one as this virus will be around for a long time, and I can't see anymore football being played for remainder of this season. Only answer would be to Null and Void this season.

The whole league should be settled like this, every club gets a marble:

More seriously: cancel the leagues.

Quarantine all the players for a month. When no one has the virus anymore resume the league. When not playing or training the players live at a hostel. e.g Manchester United players could live at Carrington. They are not to interact with their loved ones physically.

They are not gladiators so this would be wrong as they would be worried about their loved ones. And they wouldn't be available to their families when they are sick. It would be too extreme to do it for sports.

That would be great too. Gladiator match held at Wembley. Each team elects a Gladiator and Howard Webb is the referee. He picks everyones weapon from a hat and it's a battle to the death. When there are 2 Gladiators left 3 lions are released and Baddiel and Skinner - Three Lions starts blaring on the sound system ready for the champion.

Each remaining game left to be added onto each season.
So it will take 9 years to finish this season.

Finishing this season is incredibly easy, it's just a matter of 'when'. As hilarious as I would find it if it were voided and Liverpool didn't win the league, we can't just pick and choose what to do with promotion/relegation etc. It has to be finished.

The impact will need to be shifted onto next season. If we're stuck with no football for 6-8 weeks it can still be completed over the summer. Domestic cups can be cancelled for 20-21 if necessary. If this lasts for a longer period of time then we might be able to keep the cups, but may have to restrict the league to 1 match against each opponent rather than 2. In the case of the PL that means 9/10 home/away games.

There is no solution that won't have someone crying 'that's not fair'. But we can at least make it the same level of fairness/unfairness across the board, for all clubs in all leagues.

I'd multiply the current point totals in the league by the number of PL titles each team has, to decide a worthy and statistically accurate winner.
Seems that we would end up as league champions on 585 points. Chelsea pip City for 2nd place, then Arsenal. Leicester get the Europa League spot and everyone else gets relegated with 0 points.

Top 8 teams knockout tournament.

> In the first round we will have 4 games. 2 games on each side of the tournament tree. On one side, 1st will play 4th, and 5th will play 8th. On the other side 2nd will play 3rd and 6th play 7th.

> Winners will proceed to the Semi finals, the 4 semi finalists will be awarded a CL place. Before the semi finals 2 games will be played between the four sides that lost in the first round. The two losers from each side of the tournament will play eachothers the winners of these games will win a EL place. If City are awarded a place in European football and their ban is upheld their place will be given to the team they defeated.

> Semi Finals will be played and the winners progress to the final. The winner of the final will be crowned champions.

Play every game every 3 days in the month football is back

And I mean every 3 days. Sat-tues-fri-mon-thurs-sat-tues-fri-mo.

It's only 9 games. Insane schedule but it's basically what the big clubs do anyway. Would have the season done in 3 weeks.

Flip the league upside down to decide final placings. The mighty Canaries are named champions, while Liverpool are rock bottom and go down with city and Leicester. The question 'Could United get relegated?' is answered by a resounding 16th place finish.

So players that are knocked out of the cup and aren’t internationals take a 7 month break?
