Who's the guy 2nd from left don't remember him? I remember Wolf, Saracen and Cobra but the other guy doesn't look familiar
No videos above 240p though which is a shame.

He was great, never blinked, always solid in nearly all the games from what I remember.Shadow. He was awesome, but then got sacked for doing coke and steroids.

Thanks- just looked him up and it looks like he was removed before I started watching, so probably why I didn't recognise him, the first year I clearly remember was the Mark/Buster/Andrea year, although possibly would have watched one before that.He was great, never blinked, always solid in nearly all the games from what I remember.
Think he's been in trouble with the law since
Think he was nearly unbeatable on the one they swung weapons at each other while perched on things. He was great, never blinked, always solid in nearly all the games from what I remember.

Yes, that was duel with the pugil sticks!Think he was nearly unbeatable on the one they swung weapons at each other while perched on things.
Can't remember what they called it now. Duel maybe?
Ian Simpson was defeated before they even began.Think he was nearly unbeatable on the one they swung weapons at each other while perched on things.

gauntlet is stupid.Shadow was unbelievable at Hang Tough and Duel. The power he could put into duel was amazing.
The Gladiators are all a bit crap at Gauntlet huh.
Just had a quick look at the gladiators and their promos, this somehow looks even cheesier than the UK versionA new Aussie version has also just rebooted apparently. On Channel 10 so likely to tank.
Quote likely. Aussie terrestrial tv can be terrible. So bad I haven't bothered repairing the anttena on my new place.Just had a quick look at the gladiators and their promos, this somehow looks even cheesier than the UK version
I mean you can't always win with these things as someone will have something to say either way, but it is interesting that all four contests have had 1 black and 1 white contestant.
Double quoted my post - here and in the "Posts that feel racist" thread. Well done. Do you have an actual opinion then?

No you didn'tI've replied to you in the more appropriate thread.
Are you going to answer my question? No you didn't
Check your question - "Why do that find that interesting exactly?" makes no sense. Are you going to answer my question?
Who cares? Why is it interesting?I mean you can't always win with these things as someone will have something to say either way, but it is interesting that all four contests have had 1 black and 1 white contestant.
Have you watched the BBC before?I mean you can't always win with these things as someone will have something to say either way, but it is interesting that all four contests have had 1 black and 1 white contestant.
he’s never seen one on a white guy.Have you watched the BBC before?

Boomhe’s never seen one on a white guy.
So what gives? Has the average Joe just become a lot more fit?I was watching an American react to our classic series and, yeah, the Gauntlet used to actually be a challenge! You see how hard it was to get by Rhino who was first in line compared to the wannabe Wolf in Viper now and it's night and day
They had the pads, too! I think it's easier with the long stick one but, even with the two gloved ones, they were still hard to get past in the classic. So what gives? Has the average Joe just become a lot more fit?
The big "pads" they hold are a clear disadvantage for the gladiators. Did they have those before or could they just grapple with their bare hands?
Alright. Nerd glasses on...They had the pads, too! I think it's easier with the long stick one but, even with the two gloved ones, they were still hard to get past in the classic.
Have a look (I've timestamped it)
The walls aren't as high as the new one eitherAlright. Nerd glasses on...
5 Gladiators in the 90's, 4 in the new one.
The poles are longer in the 90's.
The pads are smaller in the 90's. The new ones look really difficult to handle.
The Gladiators and Contestants are wearing what looks like bouncy material armour in the new, perhaps makes it easier to bounce and evade after the initial impact?

You make good points except the first one. I think they could have the whole cast out there for today's one and it wouldn't make too much of a difference!Alright. Nerd glasses on...
