One's that i've actually watched the full 90. Roy Keane vs Juve in the CL. Literally dragged us through that game himself both physically and mentally.

Franco Baresi v Brazil 94 WC final.

Giggs was great away to Juve in 2003.

Seem to remember Garry Pallister having a crazily good offensive game against Oldham where we won either 6-3 or 5-2 at Boundary Park.

Schmeichel away against Newcastle when we won 1-0 some 23-24 years ago sticks out for me - we could have been 5 goals down by half-time, and a couple of the saves were world-class.
This is the one I was going to post, I think it was the 95/96 season. He'd already been doing it for years, but this was the game that really brought Pete's 'Starfish' saves to the media eye I think.

I'm sure it has been mentioned in this thread but the first one that comes to mind is Ronaldinho at the Bernabeu in 2005

Cristiano Ronaldo performance against Netherlands at Euro 2012 hasn't been mentioned yet ? Everything he did was dangerous that day.

Hazard against Liverpool in 2016. Brilliant goal in the bottom corner.

Ashley Cole vs Barcelona - he was incredible. Also he had so many amazing performances both for club and country.

I'm surprised Kaka vs United wasn't mentioned. :D
The horrible defending is what sticks out first in my mind. The entire mismatched defense (O'shea, Brown, Heinze & Evra) was a mess and Heinze especially had a shocker. Shat himself as soon as Kaka got the ball.

What do you guys consider to be Scholes’s best performances?

The two that immediately jump out to me, are his displays in the 6-2 win away to Newcastle in 2003, and the 4-1 win at home to Blackburn in 2007 (I was in the away end for that masterclass from him).

Kasey Keller for the USA vs. Brazil in the 1998 Gold Cup semis was epic. As a Blackburn fan I have to nominate Tim Flowers for his heroic performance against Newcastle on the penultimate day of the 1994/1995 season.

Neuer vs Porto was even more insane. By far the most unreal performance by a goalkeeper that I have seen during my lifetime.
We still have nightmares with that shit.

Ronaldo vs Atletico Madrid 2012
Ronaldo vs Netherlands 2012
Ronaldo vs. Aston Villa 2008 (one of the most complete performances from him; 3 incredible assists and an audacious back heel goal).
Zidane vs. France 2006
Ronaldo vs. Spain 2018
Ronaldo vs Sweden 2013
Messi vs Real Madrid 2010
Messi vs Bayern 2015
Neymar vs PSG 2017
Vidal vs Argentina 2016
Ronaldinho vs AC Milan 2006

These are all games that either had me off my seat or in awe that immediately come to mind. Plenty of others that I could probably also mention.

Pirlo in the WC final was pretty immense, he was brilliant against England in the last WC too.

Zidane vs brazil was a bit surreal. He looked like he was in slow motion yet was breezing past the brazil players effortlessly. The big man was elegance personified.

Against Liverpool at OT in 06/07 was an immense Scholes performance. A goal and just bossed the midfield. Against Barca at the Nou Camp in 07/08 exceptional too though people remember his goal in the home game more.

Kante vs Arsenal in 2016.

Ronaldo against Sweden in that playoff game few years ago.

Messi against City.

Probably not the greatest but didn't want to repeat the same things.

Messi against Bayern when be did what he did to Boateng. The reaction of the pundits in the studio said it all. They were in absolute awe.

Vitor Rivaldo against United 99/ Valencia 01
Dinho at the Bernabeau
Titi away at Inter/ Madrid

Thanks. I completely forgot about the Liverpool game in 2006/2007.

Other Scholes masterclasses that I remember are the 5-2 win against Tottenham in 2009 with his insane pass completion rate, and City away in 2009/2010 not just with his last gasp winner but the fact that he was the best player on the pitch by a mile before then.

Keane away to Juve for me is a little overrated. He was excellent no doubt but it was an outstanding team performance from 2-0 down, Cole and Yorke ran them ragged, Irwin was fantastic, Keane getting the first and then the yellow created a narrative of a one man show but it was not really like that.

A few Utd ones,

Giggs against Roma, or Deportiva away in our 2-0 win there, or the 3-1 against Fiorentina in 2000, or Juve(in a loss!) in 96/97

Keane against Newcastle on a snowy night at OT in 96 or away to Arsenal when he scored both, and dominated midfield in a 2-1 in 00?

Cole and Yorke against Barca, has to come as a pair, they were incredible that night.

Beckham against Greece is another one that is vastly overrated. Great energy and desire but one of the reasons why England were such a shambles that day was Beckham constantly being out of position and trying to go Roy of the Rovers on Greece. Destroyed any structure England might have had. Unfortunately for Beckham the praise he got that day led to more and more of those type of ill disciplined matches, could even say it was a poor influence of the likes of Gerrard and Rooney.
