The people who think everyone is outraged at an 18 year lad looking for the ride are way off. No one cares about that, and that's totally normal. But you can't be doing that when away with the England squad! You're literally away at a hotel paid by your job basically, rooming with others. It's not a good look and it's certainly not professional to be bringing some girls back. In this case i know the roommate was also involved but that doesn't make it okay either. It's not like they're away for ages, there's plenty of time to be doing this craic on their own time. You add in the risk of covid and it's just highlighting even more how unprofessional it is. It's stupid and it breaks even more rules which really aren't that hard to follow. Especially on your first ever call up to the squad, you'd think he'd have a bit more respect and be extra careful.
So the punishment was fair, it doesn't need to go any further than that. Hopefully he learns from it, and as I said before, I get it. He's 18, shit happens. It's more about how he reacts to this going forward now.
