It felt incredibly good seeing him at Old Trafford yesterday with such a big smile on his face. Long may that continue. Hope he has a great day and also happy new years eve everyone. 
You are absolutely right.
Few of us have actually met him in the formal sense and yet we have fallen in love with him. A love so enduring for the greatest ever.
He took United to heights that were simply breathtaking in their achievements. So much so that it became almost routine.
And now we realise just how difficult those achievements were.
Happy birthday to you Sir Alex and hopefully many more to come and thank you for making United the greatest football club in the world.
