You do follow some obscure meets! Didn't know Yarmouth had a race course...
Followed the Michael Bell stable in this particular case, tip came straight from the yard via a friend of a friend etc.

Rain yesterday makes for perfect conditions (apparently) - price down from 11/10 to 5/7 now.

Form is on soft/good-to-soft, Yarmouth is good, good to firm in places (watered). A dry day is forecast. Too short at 10/11 for me.
Yes moving in too short today, last nights price was reasonable - hopefully the good word on it pays dividends.

Here are my days flutters, with Piazon being the make or break:
2.20 Plumpton - Mystery Drama
4.00 Plumpton - Ulck Du Lin
3.35 Yarmouth - Piazon
1.30 Chepstow - Solar Impulse
3.15 Chepstow - Cocktails at Dawn
4.20 Huntingdon - Paradise Valley

Solar impulse gets it off to a good start.

I'd back Twin Point, but it's a lottery in the 1.50.

A friend went to school with Sir Michael Stoute's son, but the son is actually allergic to horses. They took me to Newmarket once to see their facilities. Great day out.

3/6 winners with Piazon landing, I'll take that.

Punchestown starts Tuesday. I enjoy this Festival but don't really get involved from a punting point of view as by Aintree I'm sort of ready for the flat.
That said I may have a penny or two each way on Fingal Bay on Thursday.

Speaking of the flat, the Guineas is next week and I'm on Toormore at around 8/1. He's a solid horse, a group 1 winner and at this stage is well worth an each way investment. The favourite will be tough to beat and I'm hoping Newmarket don't water in an effort to keep him in the race. A rattling fast surface on 2000 Guineas day is one of the themes of the flat season and if they didn't water for Celtic Swing or Dubawi they shouldn't water for Kingman.

Did anybody cash in on Faugheen yesterday at Punchestown? What a horse. Went off at SP of 1/2 but you could pick up 4/5 the evening before - from the moment he set off from the front it was never in doubt. It was a lovely ride from Sizing Europe too.

Agreed, looks like one of those that only ever does enough and it's been a challenge to get a gauge on just how good he is.

I am not a man........I am Cantona
Just missed the biggest winner ive ever seen on the flat. Backed it to place at 14/1 rather than the 120/1 that was available to win on betfair

Ex Michael Stoute unraced 4 year called Race with Pride.

Gutted :(

Took Miss France at 7/1 in the antepost - never though you'd get the same value as 7/1 at SP, but she just edged it. :)

Hindsight aye, a 14/1 winner is always welcome! Good call either way.

Not got an invite to the Derby this year:( Been in Investec's box four of the last five years. Missed out on Cheltenham too. The clampdown on journo freebies sucks.

I would like to point out for any Yanks reading this thread that the Belmont Stakes is Saturday and California Chrome stands a good chance of being the first triple crown winner in 38 years. Could be an exciting event.

I'm actually more excited for this race than our own Derby. Such a fantastic story but a huge ask for the horse to hold on over 12f.

I don't fancy anything for the Derby. Australia looks short but has the perfect pedigree for the race. Should win.

Fancy Taghrooda in the Oaks today. Yes the form of her trial win has not worked out but that was a race over 10f and she's out of a mare who won over the Leger trip. She will improve bundles today and she is more solid over 12f than Marvellous who looks a stamina doubt to me.

Cannot argue with you about the distance being probably too much for Chrome. He is not big in the chest like Seattle Slew and Secretariat and may not have the lungs and stamina to go 12f. Should be exciting though.

Won a fair bit yesterday on a horse called Just Marion at Windsor, thinking of lumping it all on Kingman today in the St. James's Palace Stakes at Ascot. Good idea?

I think it's a bit trappy, Kingman won the Irish 2000 but that was a weak field. He was beaten by Night of Thunder at Newmarket and may be again even if there were excuses.

Stuck with him, managed to get on at 11/10 earlier, best price is now 10/11. Also done a decent sized double on Kingman and Toronado. Lost a bit on Ghana yesterday so could do with winning some back.

Well done, I've never seen so many favs go in at Ascot in the first two days. Looks like normal service resumed today.
