I'm cheating here.

But I keep thinking Diego Simeone must have been the Inter Milan manager at some point. He seems a natural fit and he played for them too.

@Paolo Di Canio also always seemed like a Manchester United player. The sort Fergie liked to sign. Maybe it would have happened if he'd joined West Ham a couple of years earlier.

That whole Spurs/QPR/Portsmouth Redknapp switcharoo era is rife for this.
Yeah. I genuinely thought Kaboul was at QPR so instantly tried to find another player who was from that era and chose the club he didn't play at.

Pogba only playing for United, Juventus and France at professional level.

It feels like he should've played for 4 or 5 clubs

A spell at Barca feels spiritually missing from Rijkaard and Gullit's playing careers. Likewise Mancini surely played for both Milan clubs between Sampdoria and Lazio in another universe.

Steed Malbranque never played under Harry Redknapp OR Sam Allardyce OR Alan Pardew? Impossible. Witchcraft.

John O Shea Celtic
Henry PSG
Bale United
Hazard Arsenal
Anelka Portsmouth

I was gonna say Joey Barton at Rangers and realised he did actually play 5 games for them.

Danny Ings hasn't played for Scunthorpe United. Yet. If he does, he'll have played for every professional English club that plays in claret and blue. Do the right thing, Danny.

I have a false memory of seeing Claudio Ranieri managing Middlesbrough in the late 90s, I was 100% sure I had seen him at the 96/97 season review VHS.

I think Pogba would've fit into late-stage Wenger Arsenal.

Beautiful baller but crap and weak mentality that summed up post 2006 Arsenal

Van Bommel - Atletico and Chelsea
David Silva - Barcelona
Kante, Pogba, Benzema - PSG
Verratti for a Serie A club
Shearer - United
Ozil - Bayern
Neymar - Real Madrid
Tevez - Any La Liga club. Would also say Cavani for any La Liga club if he didn't have a small stint eventually in Valencia

Pepe never played for Simeone's Atletico Madrid. A match made in heaven that never happened.

Gundogan never played for Bayern. I swear.

Verratti never played for Barcelona.

Joao Pedro Da Silva De Almeida never played for Wolves.

Adama Traoré and Ousmane Dembele never played for Anyang LG Cheetahs.

Michael Carrick never played for Newcastle. For someone interviewed on Saturday morning telly as a kid with a Newcastle strip on, posters of Newcastle players all over his walls and a Geordie accent it seems weird he never rocked up there even just for 1 season.
Wesley Sneijder never played for United, despite every summer for about 5 years hearing he was target number 1.

Saf did try to sign the fascist, along with Southgate, in the winter of 01-02 but United were against the shorttermism of the deal, taking into account this was Saf last season. So the club opted to sign the much younger, though more expensive option, Diego Forlan.
Would've been interesting to see if we could've closed the gap on Arsenal and progressed in the CL with Di Canio and Southgate, though personally Arsenal were on another level that year.
