As far as I'm aware Scotland is the only one of the four UK countries that export more than they import. Also they would use the Euro probably, you don't necessarily need to already be in the EU to do so. Kosovo already use it and that was before they received candidate status recently. Also Scotland having just left the EU less than two years ago would meet most of the requirements necessary before all the standards and everything is trashed by Westminster. The longer they leave it the harder it will get.Oil revenues fell off a cliff after 2014 and trade with the EU is a fraction (1/3) of trade with the rest of the UK. And that's before we get to budget deficits and national debt. And using the pound.
Trying to be an independent nation while grovelling to join the EU on the one hand and using a currency thats issued and controlled by a different country on the other. Just idiotic.
As with NI the trade will open up to rest of Europe instead of being limited to where Westminster lead them. It will adapt.
Difficult decision but what is there to look forward to sticking with Westminster.
