Yes of course it is, but awful murders obviously still occurred long before the internet.
Given how shocking this case has been, it's questionable whether the prevalence of the internet has increased the number of such crimes. That would be an interesting piece of research, albeit proving a definitive causal link would no doubt be tricky.

I have a family member who is a social worker and trust me yes this story is in the minority but there are many stories that are very, very bad and I don’t meet that lightly. Things that are just horrendous and internet porn is the reason. We won’t see the level of this for another 10 years. But yeah you need to look at it like this, at the moment you might as well show hardcore porn on day time tv such is the level that teenagers are watching it. I don’t need to tell you what sex is suffering here. No it’s not murder but some things I have heard are equally harrowing.

It is a really big problem. I'm not some old fart griping about it either. I'm 22 and I can see the problems its caused for mates and myself. Way way better off without that shite and what it does to you.

Tricky for me.

On one side, these two are likely dangers to society going forward.
Another side, that young are not fully developed mentally and all that other stuff psychology points out.

Lock them up for decades? - A few years does not seem proper for the actual crime, regardless of age.
Can they be rehabilitated? - I'm not sure if they can be rewired per say.

Don't really care if they are fully developed or not. They know right from wrong. Murdering is wrong. If they don't know right from wrong at age 13, then they should be put down anyways. Since that doesn't seem to be an option, find a hole, put them in it, and lose the key.

Another trial at the moment is that of Grace Milane in New Zealnd (https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...-man-accused-killing-backpacker-daughter.html). My Dad knew the parents, and was actually at their Christmas party when this was all blowing up last year. I just can't imagine what it must be like to go through that, both for the victim and for anyone that loves them.

There is no doubt that some of the more "specific" porn the people who take part in it enjoy it. The more mainstream its simply about the money, if your popluar you get paid A LOT of cash for it.

The killer is a psychopath, you simply just don't do shit like that, even being a child isn't an excuse. I don't see how someone like this can be reintegrated into society.
