Is Fred the worst regular starter for United in living memory?

The only other one I can think of is maybe Danny Daley Blind. Fred is absolutely completely shit.

Fcuking Fellaini. Completely forgot about him. Sorry Daley.

Not even close.

You only need to go back 18 months to find Pereira.

Hes being asked to do something that isn't his game. He's a good pressing midfielder. Not top level sure but he's very decent.

We put him in a role to be a holding mid essentially next to Pogba. Which means we have 0 positional awareness.

Danny Blind was great but not for us.
Fred is clearly the worst midfielder to be a starter for Utd for decades.

Pereira is a good shout. But was he a regular though? Fred is like the first name down on the team sheet after England's lionheart Maguire.

Was he a regular starter though? Fred has been one of the first names on the teamsheet for 2-3 years running now.

Blind wasn't even the worst starter during his stint with us.
He was a decent player for us, covered multiple roles with little fuss and even filled in very well at CB in a physical PL.

He said regular starter. Pereira hasn't even played two games back to back.
Pereira was a regular in midfield for Ole in the first half of the season before we signed Bruno.

He’s a non-entity in the midfield today. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him this bad. To be fair, he was never up to the job of a sitting in front of the back four on his own. No physical presence.
He’d do ok on the left side of an energetic midfield 3 at somewhere like Liverpool.

What I am seeing, is not Fred. It is tactical issue. Bruno has wasted a lot of passes and Pogba offer little to no defensive support.

Fred is being used as a major scapegoat for poor tactical gameplan

One of the worst players I’ve ever watched. There are plenty of guys who have put on our shirt throughout the years that we’re out of their depth, but none have gotten as many chances or performed nearly as bad as Fred consistently does. Offers us absolutely nothing with the ball at his feet and wouldn’t get a game for the City u23 midfield.

How many more chances does he get?

Exactly. It's like criticizing fullback for not being able to play Centre Back. Not his game.

He is a CM and not a CDM.

You cant blame him for struggling a position that is not his.
