At the moment, we're not very good. We haven't been particularly good all season.
That isn't a complaint, just a statement of fact. It doesn't mean I don't support them, just that I'm being realistic.
We certainly aren't good enough to lose five defenders and cope.
On our day we can be brilliant - but so can other teams, like Pompey for instance. Atm, there is something seriously lacking in the team and it's probably that creative spark.
Because we no longer have a beacon (Ronaldo) the team needs to be moulded into a solid unit - that means playing the same team whenever possible which would also create momentum. Obviously not possible atm.
Even when all the players are fit, we haven't been brilliant. But not as bad as some people would have us believe. With our best eleven we can get a result, but even with a fully fit squad, only an idiot would say that there isn't a problem. It might only be a minor problem...maybe one player could be the answer...but nonetheless, there's a problem.
We might have fared better today with Carrick and Fletcher in midfield because that could have put more pressure on Fulham, rather than on our defence. I'd rather have seen a strong midfield than using two of our best midfielders out of position.
