Sad it didn't work out but best for everyone for him to move on.Tweet

We need at least another midfielder, I’d be tempted to get him in tbh freeing up funds for other positions.26, premier league proven, on a free, should we sign him up for squad depth?
No point in a squad player that can't stay fit26, premier league proven, on a free, should we sign him up for squad depth?
Wage though. As injury prone as he's, is homegrown status and raw talent (hindered by injury) would help him get a better offer from PL clubs. It's both hard to see a big Spanish club pick him up nor he is happy to be just a squad player (the rumor regarding his decision to leave Arsenal).I hope he goes to La Liga. I feel like even though there are alot of spanish players in the PL, english players don't really test themselves over there and I think that league would be good for Wilshere, it suits his style.
There's always MLS and China if money is the problem. But yeah, he's in a tough spot. Hopefully he gets an offer from a big club.Wage though. It's a tough situation if we think about it. Wilshere is injury prone and he's likely aware of it. He needs security for his career than have the luxury to further his career taking a step back at a foreign club with lesser wage offer.
No white text, either.Abandon Fred, sign Wilshere for free then use the funds toward SMS.
His fitness and general level of performance was spot on this season - he could be an asset to the club moving forward.

I thought he was your best midfielder in that last quarter of the season from what I saw. Which to be fair was mostly extended highlights of games, rather than full 90s, but still.Seems to have lost that yard of pace after his most recent injury. He was very slow in many of our end of season games.
Only played 90 minutes twice in the last 14 league matches. (Wasn't in the squad for half.)I thought he was your best midfielder in that last quarter of the season from what I saw. Which to be fair was mostly extended highlights of games, rather than full 90s, but still.
No way would I trust him with Matic's role. If the plan is to play with 3 CMs (Matic, Pogba and Fred) next year, I would rotate him with either Pogba or Fred, but never Matic. He's not very positionally aware and he has a tendency to try to dribble out when pressed rather than pick up a simple pass. Which you can't do as an anchoring DM.I’d take him. Good passer, quick and can tackle. Rotate with matic
I think that was true when he was younger but what I saw of him last season was a player who kept it simple. When he did try that Hollywood pass it rarely paid off. I agree with most here, injuries have taken his toll and he’s probably best suited to a mid table team.I’d take him. Good passer, quick and can tackle. Rotate with matic
I think he’s been very good on his day but it’s been a long time since he was bossing games at a high level. Arsenal are getting rid of him on a free. That’s all you need to know as a united fan. He must not be good enough for arsenal so why would we want him here when we aspire to be better than them. He Doesn’t really seem to have a winners mentality either and we need a lot more grit around here. I think there’s no chance we will want to sign him anyway. Im another who’d like to see him go abroad and try his luck. I wonder would someone like Dortmund give him a shot? More than likely West Ham, Palace etc.Raw ability ruined by a fragile body and the sad fact that he doesn't have a great football brain.
Still holds on to the ball too long, still tries to beat one man too many, still goes crunching in to tackles that will put him out for months.
His situation is no different from Dyer, Anderton, Sturridge, Jones, Shaw and Hargreaves, you MIGHT get a couple of good seasons out of him, He WILL be out for multiple extended periods of times and you will be wasting your money.
Only worth signing on a pay as you play deal.
Can you see Mourinho really signing him though?I’d take him. Good passer, quick and can tackle. Rotate with matic
