But the end of the Euros is weeks away, feck that. The end of the week. This week. This working week.
Totally agree. Imagine he has a great Euros and Dortmund decide he's worth more. Why is the board so casual about transfers, especially a major one like Sancho? Not as if they have a brilliant track-record...

Ah, tweets from actual journalists and not Fraudizio. How refreshing
And none (or at least few) idiotic kids in the comments repeating the same irrelevant tripe after every update, "Arsenal news?" "They're sh*t". "Pionel Pessi is a fraud", etc., etc. I dunno how Fabrizio puts up with it. Still, suppose he knows they are his majority demographic...

Ya definitely has nothing to do with an English player wanting to play in his home country and the best league in the world or anything
he went to Dortmund as a stepping stone, get games and experience and then go to a big club that was the plan. The same for Haaland and Bellingham. None of them want to stay long term.

I think we will definitely sign him and I think the fact we are moving already suggests we want it finalised now, not in a months time.

The club obviously want him, just get it done. As always only time will tell how good (or not) he’d be.

Dortmund, Uniteds more efficiently run feeder club?

Haaland next year? Bellingham in 23? Fairly unimaginative but they’ve almost totally cornered the market…. We need to start playing the likes of Amad and Hannibal on the regular or the highest quality youth will keep choosing Dortmund over us for game time. We can’t afford 100 million every time a player slips through and has a few good seasons there. I doubt it’s sustainable.

We'll agree terms but probably won't finalise until after the EURO's in case he get injured.

Hé doesn’t even start for England? I doubt that’s a concern surely. We can still agree a fee with Dortmund, pending a medical.

I’m not saying he’s crap like, I’m not thick I can see he has qualities Dortmund wouldn’t want £100m if he wasn’t any good.
It’s just I’m not opposed to searching different avenues if Dortmund are going to act the wag and over charge us.
That's fair I feel

Probably more likely so that we don't have to pay his wages earlier just for him to play for England. Probably a big reason why clubs don't start signing big name players until the seasons about to start

Oh brilliant - everything agreed apart from the fee. Some would argue - that the fee is fairly important, but as long as everything else is agreed :)
According to a few people here, the fee is the simple bit. We just pay what is being asked and move on to the next transfer target. We shouldn't waste too much time & effort on such minor details.

Yeah. Last month, I was at this Ferrari dealership. We agreed on everything: color, engine , upholstery (many options there, believe it or not!). We seem to have a slight disagreement on price. I made an offer, they still appear to be evaluating it.

The price has been set, it's not going to go up and down based on how he plays over the next 4 weeks  .
Based on that logic i'd be tempted to wait then and take a chance he has a stinker then we can drop our price knowing full well they have to accept based on his Euro performances.
The floor has been set on what Dortmund want for him. If he has a blistering Euro's you can bet other clubs will be heavily interested and start throwing money around.

There's nothing he can do at the Euros that would make clubs who clearly haven't shown much interest suddenly start throwing dumb money around, especially right now. Seems like panicking for panicking sakes to me.

"Everything agreed except the fee with Dortmund". What else could we have agreed on with Dortmund if not the fee? like agreeing to buy a car to put it in the garage. The price? who gives a feck.

Genuine question but when has this ever happened before?

Everything agreed = player and agent terms.
Everything not agreed = the fee with Dortmund.

I'm not panicking but it doesn't make sense to leave the door ajar when we almost have the player.

I'm not saying this will happen but how many times have we seen major clubs shift their transfer target off the back of a brilliant tournament? Sure, Madrid want Mbappe or Salah. Barcelona are skint, Chelsea are chasing Haaland, PSG want other positions etc. But if Sancho does light up the Euro's, which I personally don't think he will, you can bet a couple of those clubs change their priorities this summer or find money by fire selling some players to make room for the best player at the Euros.

It's best for all parties involved that this gets done this weekend.

I remember when we signed Hernandez about a week before the World Cup and he bagged a bunch of goals for Mexico. We probably saved ourselves about £15m by getting it done before the World Cup.

Rio Ferdinand - United
Diouf - Liverpool
Kanchelskis - United
Gyan - Sunderland
Rodriguez - Madrid

Just a few I can think of off the top of my head, there's probably a couple more who've moved post tournament after playing well.
