They asked too much. We should make them pay for it. Teach them a lesson.
They set their price early and stuck to it, they never wanted him to leave and he has a contract. That we can't or wont meet it is not their fault. Sancho clearly hasn't angled for the move as much as he could have and frankly I'm ok with that to. I don't want someone here who goes on strike to get what they want.

Wonder what the briefs will say come 11pm or will there be radio silence in the matter...

There's a whole saga to be made out of this post-window. Press pack cant even wait for the official end to get started. Woodward, and by proxy, the club, will never hear the end of this.

All sorts of embellishments and fabrications can be made and we can effectively be the butt of all jokes with no way to counter or quell them.

Genius all round.

The absolutely horrendous start to the season and now ending up without Sancho has honestly left me completely apathetic. You could see this a mile away. Its the story under glazers post fergie repeating itself again and again. There is zero interest in challenging for titles.

How convenient that he waits until after the window when he can't possibly be proven wrong to declare the deal dead on August 10th.
Its also ticks all the boxes of United disaster porn.

Expect our own briefing soon to counter all this. Bunch of amateur idiots.

Whatever the spin from the Journalists or Woodward, bottomline is we had a chance to get a great talent to fill a position in need. Now if we feel the price is too high fair enough. But dont just sit around and expect the price to come down magically. Go and set up alternatives. Go and get someone else. Bunch of useless idiots.

I can't help but feel that if Jadon was more of a prick and agitated for a move, this would've been done.

It seems he was content either way.

Anyway, he'll be a Real Madrid/ Liverpool signing next summer.

Thank you Ed. This was your big opportunity to make a statement and you ballsed it up.

This is going to be a painful season, we have many more humiliations awaiting us. Strap in tight lads.

If that’s true, then it’s certainly the end of Sancho journey. Most likely why Dortmund were confident to wait till next summer too.
There is nothing to suggest things will be better next summer.

A covid vaccine isnt a silver bullet straight away. It will take time to get people vaccinated. Id say there is a strong chance crowds wont return to football till the first quarter of 2022 at the earliest.

Given how hard Dortmund committed to that deadline in public and how nothing tangible happened afterwards it's not really a wild claim.

Dortmund fecked up.. they wont get 100m+ for him again..
Problem is by all indications they weren't getting that for him this summer either

So really, what did they lose? 80million euros plus add-ons? That sounds like something they could get next summer actually

Much a do about nothing then.

Doesn't even seem like United were pursuing the whole time like the media would have you believe and nearly everyone foaming at the mouth is a lot of misspent energy.

We nor anyone else can pay what they wanted by the date they set out end of story. I don't think it benefits Ed's safety to allow it to fester for so long but there's so much conflicting info. Feels like De Ligt non saga almost, that was extremely fanciful. Balague kept saying no but so many other sections of the media were using it for clicks and got rather silly.

Anyone know the biggest transfer deal this window by any club? Havertz to Chelsea?

This is one of those transfers that you take out a 5 year loan to fund if you have to. It's made the club look weak, and there was so much to gain from buying a 20 year old English version of Hazard playing in a position we haven't had a natural player in over 5 years. He'll hold his value for a long time anyway, It would still have been an incredible deal for us even if it took 5 years to pay off in small instalments. Woodward's biggest feck up by far.

If United weren’t pursuing it then why have we not signed anyone for the right wing, be it on loan or permanently.. Furthermore why wouldn’t United just brief that the price was too high and say we’ve walked away from the deal. You then wouldn’t have ex players calling the whole saga laughable and it now being the huge PR mess that it is.

All transfers like these have personal terms etc agreed. The fact Dortmund have been so vocal and acted so tough puts a lot of emphasis on them, hence the acting out this week.
We gave Jadon what he wanted and the club could not afford him in a pandemic. I dont see whats so galling about it. We tried to the very end to get hin, I dont see how another club who didnt even try or thought he wasnt worth it would be in a better position.
There was literally a leak last week saying he was happy to wait a year for the move.
We won’t have champions league next year. No chance does he come here without. This window or never.

If what he’s saying is true that 2 clubs have been in touch saying they will be in a position to sign him next summer, I’d imagine that’s with these clubs knowing the situation isn’t going to improve.

The fact we didn't believe that BVB deadline day to be actually true reflects pretty bad on our negotiation team.

Can't wait until we try to pull a Bruno and get him in January for the exact same price while we're sitting pretty in 10th.
Sorry buddy, but it's not going to happen.
We've allocated wages to certain personnel and there is no room for Sancho's wages.
I stated this a few days ago.

If Sancho was coming, it had to be now, but our board are so inept, they've signed a 33 yr old has been who scored 4 league goals last season.

You couldn't make this up.

Maybe they think being talked about is better than not being talked about. The De ligt saga was allowed to run and run.

Regarding replacements, there isn't a great lot out there, the position has been empty for many years it's no surprise there's nothing concrete. According to reports United would like Dembele, he doesn't want to leave Barca, Barca want a fee, we want a loan. We inquire for Brooks and it's 50m.

Asking for a friend:

what would be the very latest time to get a bid accepted? 9.30? Or is the paper work a 5 hour job?
Dude.
Don't do this to yourself.
It's over.
And reading the tweets, it was over on 10th August.

Thats fine actually. What's criminal is not finding an adequate replacement by now.

Now watch the other clubs get him.

Since things right now are far and few in between (options) wise very limited. Is any United fan willing to support the purchase of Wilfred Zaha?

That's all it is; sensationalism. Think of how many websites clicks, retweets and followers were gained over the last two months by spouting absolute horseshìt about deadlines. That's what journalism deals in now.

I think Sancho was largely dependent on Pogba leaving personally

I think it might happen next Summer if Pogba goes

Big deals will not be common next Summer

I don't mind not getting an alternative, I mean why spend money on what is essentially a second choice. Once they knew Sancho wasn't doable though why not invest in other areas of the pitch though? It was said earlier in the summer a left sided CB, we've left it till deadline day for a LB. joke
