This is why I want to see Sancho in the middle to be honest - he isn't an amazing inside forward but he is more a touchline winger.

In my opinion Sancho has the ability to start in the middle and make the runs out wide in to space. We give Lingard credit for making the right runs & he tends to go find the space that has widened opened.

I hope to see Sancho doing what Lingard does making runs to either LW or RW and providing a wide channel alternative to have a more traditional winger providing the width to a narrow pair of inside forwards.

Pepe is perfect for the inside forward role but I worry that Greenwood is made for that spot. This is why I can see United both financially & football way target Bale even on loan - to provide the experience to Greenwood to play as a forward on right channel.

Rashford/Martial - Greenwood/Bale

-<sancho>-
Sounds good to me. Pepe and Sancho would be a great upgrade and give us a lot alternatives.

If he was to become the next big English player, he’d be worth far more than 180m. Admittedly, it’s not a given that he will be.

For those of you that have never run a business, the income side is much more important than the cost side of the ledger. The value of having the top English player as an asset is very high indeed.

I do think that €180m is outrageous, but unfortunately, that is the going rate for top players. The market is set by the highest bidder. For an 18 year old to record 12 goals and 14 assists in the Bundesliga is extraordinary.
You want more of a sure thing for that fee. Not someone who still has big ifs. That's the going rate for top players and he isn't there yet. Acting like he is would be the same poor decision we've been making over the years. He doesn't even look like a better player than Reus yet some are prepared to blow 180 on him.

Kid has unreal vision, some of his assists this season have been world class.

Started slowly but he’s begun taking the piss a bit now. Just see a baby-Hazard whenever I watch him. He’s one we need to get on a long deal, could define our next team.

He’s not a sure thing? Maybe. I suppose Bale turned out not to be a sure thing.

Reus is class, but Sancho has been the engine on that team this year.

The thing is, if he moves this summer to Real or wherever for 150m or 180m and bags 20+ goals and 20+ assists, we will be crying for what might have been.

Barcelona paying 150m or whatever for Dembele like 2 years ago?
Gotze
Kagawa
Gundogan
Hummels
Mkhitaryan
All left for around 30m

Only Dembele (silly amount) , Aubameyang (57) and Pulisic (way too much) have left for more than 50m. I don't think the Dembele or Pulisic figures have or will prove to be true market value.

Sancho I feel at this stage in his career would be approx 50m and I'd like us to test Dortmunds resolve.

Not a chance in hell he’d go for £50m, you’re dreaming.

What would you think it takes to get him? The figure isn't all that relevant. Our clubs in the shit and needs to sign the world's best young players. He fits the mould on the right wing which is one of our weakest areas.

If that's not worth a big investment then I don't know what is.

Gotze - contract
Kagawa - contract
Hummels - contract
Mkhitaryan - contract
Lewandowski on a free

All these players left for cheap because they had a year left on their contract. Not because they sell for cheap. You're crazy if you think a 50m offer would get Dortmund to even blink. Sancho is as hyped up as any young player has been after Mbappe, and is having a ridiculous season. Less than £100m wont be enough, dont think theres a chance of it.

I agree we need to get him, hes a dream signing and I'd still pay the 150m or whatever itll take. The thing is though they have no reason to let go for cheaper because he has plenty of years on his contract and have no reason to sell because even in the case of a bad season, hes still English and will have teams like United spending over 80m on him. Pulisic has done ~nothing this season and Chelsea bought him for 60m. Sancho is english, younger and better than anything Pulisic has ever shown and has created the most league goals in Europe. It's going to he a premier league record transfer whether he comes this summer or next summer.

They sold Pulisic for more than 50m with one year on his contract and Sancho is much better. I’d say he goes for £100m +30-50m in add-ons.

Calm down, it’s not even summer yet. Almost every single report suggests he is of major interest to us, bit early to be losing it.

That approach is akin to bringing a knife to a gun fight. You'll be hopelessly overpowered by the competition. If Dortmund agrees to sell Sancho, the line will be out the door with interested clubs each of which will offer much more than 50mm.

He disagrees on your expected fee, not the logic of signing him. Testing resolve is 80M, subject to the kid wanting the move (would he? why?). Else you are talking 100M+ add-ons.

boy oh boy do we need this kid. Don’t think it will happen though ☹

And he will cost a bomb! This is the type of statement we need to make though if we want to get back to the top!

80-100 million should do it.

Dembele was a bit inflated due to Neymar money being spent on him and Coutinho and also addons and other payments.

He’s better than Ousmane Dembele and he cost £150m. That should tell you everything you need to know about the likelihood of this happening considering all of our priorities.

The problem I see is why go from a club in CL to a club likely in Europa league, when he can move in 2020 after euros when he can have the pick of his clubs the same as now.

When has it ever taken more then 50m to prize away a Borussia Dortmund asset?
Its happened 3 times in the last year and a half...

Those are the relevant transfers if you want comparables, not transfers from 6 years ago.

The vision exists in this bench too, what's important was movement in this bit of play, and these forward 's and midfielders alike lack this vision for movement.

Exactly, good luck with that kind of movement with our players .

Its majorily due to coaching .

Sign him up asap. He'll cost more next summer than he will this summer so just pay £10-20m more this summer! Easier said when not my money though.

Sancho got hit in the face with a lighter during the celebrations for that goal.. wouldn't get that in the PL..

Whoever signs him will have signed a young Hazard. Perhaps even better, I don't know but if Barca wanted Dembele they will definitely be in for Sancho.
