If he’s really struggling for form, maybe January move is possible after all. I suspect we could come close to 100m with add-ons and it could a good deal for all parties.
Exactly. All I can hear is the guy saying please sign for United. I can't hear any response from Jadon. What does he actually say there? Can’t make it out
He isn’t a kid anymore. Age is irrelevant it’s completely about experience. He’s an international in his 2nd season playing regularly. We need more players in their early prime and not more kids.
If Sancho joins United, then your last point is moot. Secondly, Sancho is far more proven than James because this is James' first season in a top league. We don't know whether he'll regress or not. Finally, Sancho is only 19 years old. How much better will he be at age 21? Maybe he regresses, maybe he stays the same. However, time is on his side.People asking for a "quality right winger"...have you not been watching Daniel James play? This kid is good. Really good. Our squad needs depth, but do we pay over 100m for depth, or do people think that Sancho will leapfrog James for that right wing spot? From what I have seen of the two players (which admittedly isn't a lot of Sancho), I'm not so sure he would. Personally, I would rather go find players who want to be here. Players like James who want to help build us back into Champions League contenders, not players like Sancho who don't want to be a part of the rebuild, but rather wait until we are already there...
Rumour has it he didn't want to join United because we aren't playing Champions League football. I would rather get a player who wants to be here and will help us get back to where we belong then get a player who won't join us until we are already there...If Sancho joins United, then your last point is moot. We need to have two good options for every position, currently our options beyond Martial, Rashford, and James are all poor. If Sancho comes in and plays his best then he will easily be in the first 11. I don't see the harm in James competing and rotating with both Rashford and Sancho, and having a player like him coming off the bench instead of wasters like Lingard or Mata would be a big improvement.People asking for a "quality right winger"...have you not been watching Daniel James play? I completely agree. We need more players and better options than what we have. However, I want players who want to be here. Sancho obviously doesn't want to. Sancho is simply a level above, with all due respect to James. If he is available you get him and he starts.People asking for a "quality right winger"...have you not been watching Daniel James play? It's not an insecurity. Maybe it was all just a bunch of rubish, but rumour had it in the summer when we were looking at Sancho that he didn't want to sign for us because he wanted Champions League football. If that's true, then I don't want him. I want players who will help take us to where we belong, not decide to finally join us when we are already there...Sancho is simply a level above, with all due respect to James. If we are where we're supposed to be James is the player you bring on from the bench last 15/20 to play vs tired defenders. Its a squads game and we need better players in our squad. Players like Sancho will help us to get rid of Lingard, Mata etc and I don't think anyone will not want that.
And We need to stop thinking that every player that is above our level might "not want to be here" otherwise we will never get better. I don't quite understand where this insecurity comes from. No-one is forcing them to sign the contract. If our mismanagement makes players want to be somewhere else that's our problem first. But nobody with a sane mind will choose a big move like this without being convinced, it's illogical.
I do think it's an insecurity. We are talking about a English player and the biggest English club. Maybe he is too good that makes some people think he will leave us in the future probably..It's not an insecurity. Oh come on, that's some 'if you can't handle me at my worst you don't deserve me at my best' level bs. The reality is it's unreasonable to expect a player to drop everything to come to United. I don't agree that him not joing last transfer window is indicative of his desire to be here, he is a young player going through a sensitive phase of his development in and in a great environment to do so at Dortmund. Why risk that to join a club without CL football and lots of questions surrounding it? It's not like Dybala where it seems he never really wanted to join, but by all reports Sancho was open to a move but opted against due to lack of CL football.I completely agree. Watzke himself said that a big club from England were after him this last summer, We can assume it was we. I think he would be here at the moment but Dortmund did not want to sell just yet. They were thinking about challenging for the league title, but that is not going to happen.Rumour has it he didn't want to join United because we aren't playing Champions League football.
Based purely on a rumour you heard.Sancho obviously doesn't want to
Everything you're saying here is 'if', 'maybe' 'rumour' and yet your previous post says it's 'obvious' he doesn't want to join. It's not an insecurity. Even if the rumour was true, if he does join, then that point is moot still. Why? Because we're not in the CL right now and aren't on course to be there.Rumour has it he didn't want to join United because we aren't playing Champions League football. I would rather get a player who wants to be here and will help us get back to where we belong then get a player who won't join us until we are already there...
Well if he does sign, I hope we don't just give him the #7 and instead let him earn it. We haven't had the best of luck when we just give that number away like we did with Owen, DiMaria, Depay and SanchezWatzke himself said that a big club from England were after him this last summer, We can assume it was we. I think he would be here at the moment but Dortmund did not want to sell just yet. They were thinking about challenging for the league title, but that is not going to happen.
I personally think that either one of Sancho or Haaland is a must. They are going to be awesome players and if we can’t get either we will speculate for years to come why we did not sign one of them.
We need him here, we can offer the best contract (in the prem) and he gets to play along with Rashford, who seems to be a good friend of his and the the number 7 is vacant for him. We can make him a global superstar which I think is something that is appealing to him.
If he joins in January I will welcome him with open arms...especially considering BVB is still in Champions League...Oh come on, that's some 'if you can't handle me at my worst you don't deserve me at my best' level bs. I don't hold it against him if he had a change of heart due to our lack of CL, and it would be extremely petty and foolish if the club did too. I don't think there is a comparison to James, leaving Swansea in the championship to join United is much different to leaving Dortmund for United. In all, Sancho is one of Europe's top prospects and if he is gettable as soon as January and does want the move this time around we would be stupid not to bring him to the club.
Considering they've got Pulisic & Hudson-Odoi its doesn't look like a winger would be a priority.can Chelsea afford him? they're probably a more exciting prospective team to join tbh. top 4, good young manager, good young team, live in London.
In that case we may as well give on signing top class talent becuase they may not want to be here/ready for the rebuild. We have to have a cap on the quality of player we look for and anyone above that cap would be deemed to good to sign.People asking for a "quality right winger"...have you not been watching Daniel James play? Horrible thought. Hopefully he moved to Spain or Italy if we can't sign him. So much natural talent.I think he will end up at Chelsea.
Aye I'll be gutted if he goes there as he seems to have the makings of an excellent player. But I can see that being the sort of transfer Chelsea will go for once their transfer ban has finished. Though I hope he comes here.Horrible thought. Hopefully he moved to Spain or Italy if we can't sign him. So much natural talent.
If he wants to come, then I will take him. I just don't like this talk about how we "need a right winger" when James is exactly that player. Our front 3 is starting to click now that Martial is back and I think we have more important areas of the pitch to improve on, particularly in the midfield. And if Ole insists on a 4-2-3-1 formation, then it won't matter how much we spend on a winger when we are relying on Perierra, Mata or Lingard for our #10 position...In that case we may as well give on signing top class talent becuase they may not want to be here/ready for the rebuild. I think Sancho is a brilliant young footballer and if he wants to come (I'm not going to assume either way), then we should sign him. Yeah and unless his mentality is wrong based on what I've seen he'd leapfrog our wingers. Regardless, nothing wrong with having multiple options. Our wing options don't need to be just Rashford and James for life or something.
I'm just not as sure as others that James is 'that player'. He's a good footballer but is enough to turn down Sancho who was downright brilliant last season - where he appeared to be the most gifted the young attacking talent in the game (other tha Mbappe of course)? I don't think so. I'd like to see James achieve great things but he's not an absolute dead cert to be a top player for me. He could reach the top or maybe he'll end up a Hernandez or Park or Fletcher level player? Eventually to match City and Liverpool well need to get those incredibly gifted players ahead of them.If he wants to come, then I will take him. If James turns out to be like Park I will gladly take that. Park was very underrated. Mind you, I think James' ceiling is a lot higher than that. Especially with him playing on the right now. He won't score a lot of goals, but he will get a ton of assists. He should have more now if not for poor finishing...I'm just not as sure as others that James is 'that player'. Hard to put Sancho down as a drad cert in front of James when he has significantly cooled off since Christmas.I'm just not as sure as others that James is 'that player'. This will almost certainly be Pedro’s last season and possibly Willians. Chelsea still has the Hazard money and basically 2 summers worth of transfer budget saved up. A move for Sancho, a great young player in a budding young team makes sense and is totally feasible.Considering they've got Pulisic & Hudson-Odoi its doesn't look like a winger would be a priority.
