They’ve turned down the compo offer so if he’s resigned, we will see the current hot phrase “gardening leave” while he sees out his notice period. Unless they accept the offer eventually.

No lawful requirement to serve a notice period, reckon he just steps down and steps in.

Looks like it's the first time he'll have had this role, was DoF for Southampton.

Academy coach, then academy head coach, then academy director at City.

Suppose precise duties and responsibilities will differ from club to club? I only know technical director from playing football manager games where they hire and fire non-playing staff if you let them, otherwise they liaise with manager/DoF/head of departments (medical, scouting, coaches, sports science, analysts etc.), making suggestions for changes if they think they're needed.

Never heard of him, but this is huge news. Last fourth of the season, we’re doing a title charge!

He helped oversee city dominate recruitment for their academy and youth teams. A good move and hopefully will be in place by the summer. So far, so good by INEOS.

Pretty famous player in the 90s. Won the league with Blackburn, left midfielder. Wasn't an out and dribbling or pacey winger from memory and had a good cross on him.

No idea what he's like as a non-player but looks like he's doing alright for himself I suppose.

You would think he will be adept at recognising good talent from abroad in markets we have only slightly dabbled in the past. Up and coming players rather than waiting until the cost us an arm and a leg.

Good news that he wants to join by resigning and bit stupid of Southampton as he was going to leave so should have taken the money.
He will either have to serve his 12 month notice on gardening leave or they accept our offer. He can’t just join us straight away.
