What’s happened to Ter Stegen? I’d say maybe 2 years ago he was a top gk and I thought the Szczesny signing was just because MATS was injured….but it sounds like he’s regressed badly?

Barcelona are their city rivals so it's possible he may not want that move, but even then we might not be the best placed club to make a move.

Are we just assuming there. I don’t see anything suggesting he’s current valuation is still that ridiculously high.

The hype has reduced over time especially when you look at the prices of other keepers who can probably perform just as well.

It was tough to compete for Yoro too but we pulled it off so we could do the same especially if we confirm Cunha and a striker early on. I think its easy to make a case that we gave an exciting team emerging from under the disaster that this season has turned out to be. Yoro, Heaven, Mainoo, Amad, Bruno and De Ligt are a promising core, if we get good signings in early on then it won't be hard to convince players that we have a good project going.

That may be, but I've always thought they haven't settled on him? I could be wrong of course. In any case Arsenal were linked to Garcia before, last summer and also this spring.
If not Arsenal, Villa and Newcastle will be in the mix I guess.

Barca have been linked with him for a while and they do want to get rid off Stegen and Scehnezny. Only question is now if he'll make the hated move across town to Barca.

Our GK coach and Arteta really like him and tried to get him before. But with Raya being that good i don't think we can get him and tell him to wait 2/3 seasons on the bench. I can see him going to Barca or Chelsea. Guaranteed starter and either prestige or money.

That was a factor, but Barca aren't exactly spinning in money themselves so they could face PSR and cashflow issues themselves, can't imagine Espanyol helping them out by being flexible, either.

Costa is overrated: weak in the air. Joan Garcia is better and cheaper. Garcia is one of the the best GK of the word and 24 years old.
