A third average centre-back would make all the difference eh?
Devilish logic is impossible to get your head around, to be fair.

We need a defender yes, but selling our worst one isnt really anything to worry about..not signing a better one is the problem..
2 injury prone players, 2 average cbs and 2 midfielders
He's better than Mcnair and Rojo + he's a better option than 2 midfielders in defense. I wonder whether LVG would consider Rooney as CB
If Benteke is the stuff of nightmares for Jonny, id assume that Messi may embarass him even more than the above mentioned duo....I'm sure they will have picked up some ways to stop him in training.Yeah Messi would be terrified at the prospect of facing Romero and Rojo
Blind is as good in defence as he is in midfield.
Your ideas about injuries are bizarre.
Time will tell if we should have strengthened here and I thought we should but certainly we have enough players.
Rojo hasn't shown remotely enough yet to convince me that he's as good a defender as a fully fit Evans.Right now ? Nah he isn't plus he is also more injury prone recently than Jones and Smalling.
Well that was ages ago, LVG gave each of this players a chance, Smalling for one took his, Jonny played his way out of the club with his perfomances..He can have no one to blame...LVG judged them on what he sawI dont think he's the worst. When on form Evans was considered as the best of the lot. Things do change in here after less than a year

its zero apparentlyDecent move for both club and player I think. Jones, Rojo, Smalling and Blind all ahead of him. Realizes some value as well.
What's our net spend at now, something like £15m-20m. Essentially nothing.

We are better of buying more competent defenders that I fully agree with ,but keeping deadweight at the club hoping that they will turn the corner does us no good..and Paddy Mcnair is a young lad but stepped up admirably last season..even in unfamiliar formations too..Actually it was a season ago. I never believed the hype. However when one considers that the defense was already as weak as it is, that Evans was actually one of the most experienced of the lot and that the best member of the team looks likely to leave (DDG) or sulk his way out next season, than we would be better off buying a quality CB instead of relying on a midfielder in defense and Paddy Mcnair

His experience didnt help us one bit last season, in fact he at times played like the least experienced of that bunch....Its amazing how much we overhype some of our players, yet when it gets down to the business of selling them , none of the supposed bigger clubs are in for them..He was a decent player, but I would argue that someone like Wes Brown for example actually gave us much better perfomances..
What a crappy thing to say
But I am not arguing for Blind as a defender..for the record, I think that will be exposed sooner rather than later..what I am saying is that we need better defenders in, and selling Jonny provides a space for one in..His performances do not warrant a stay of execution and he deserves to be moved on..A failure to replace him would be stupid, and I actually agree with that..Last season was his annus horribilis. Having said that we tend to give players another season to prove themselves. If LVG can't do that for Evans than FFS we should replace him. You can't just tuck a midfielder in defense and hope for the best especially when you consider that our main man in defense (DDG) is unhappy and his replacement happens to be Monaco former reserve keeper.

Depay's fee wasn't £31m (closer to £21m confirmed by the man who broke the story) and Schweinsteiger's fee was closer to £6.5m according to Bild. Most of our deals were officially undisclosed, but the figures I've seen:
In: Darmian (£13m), Depay (£31m), Schneiderlin (£25m), Schweinsteiger (£14.5m)
Out: Henriquez (£1m), RVP (£4.5m), Rafael (£2.5m), Nani (£4.5m), ADM (£44m), Evans (£8m)
Net: £19m
I thought Arsenal was interested... for a while. The fact he's going to West Brom, for £6m, tells all you need to know about Evans.
Top sides not interested. None of em. All wrong are they?
Decent move for him, and a nice fee for the club. Good move for all parties, wish him the best hopefully he rediscovers his form and shows he's a good player again.
Well done on breaking the news mate you must be delighted, you must have been keeping your ear to the ground on this one with video and Gif links at the ready.
Not from my point of view, those two are the only players I've ever been glad to see the back of.
Couldn't stand either of them.
Was a big fan awhile ago....Began to lose patience in Fergie's last season. Snapped after the MK Dons match

We need to bring a first choice cb and the current run hasnt changed that..but LVG did give Evans a chance last season, and Im sure he factored that into his decision to sell him...He cant afford to keep players that arent performing..Im sure the club will have given him the discretion to do that.If we bring a quality replacement than its only fair for him to leave. If not that this deal is stupid especially if Blackett is also sent away on loan.
Probably another 20m for de gea to comeAccording to http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/manchester-united/transfers/verein/985
In(All in GBP): Schneiderlin(24.5M), Darmian(12.6M), Memphis(19.5M), Schweinsteiger(6.3M)
Out(All in GBP): AdM(44.1M), RvP(4.62M), Nani(4.2M), Rafael(2.1M), Henriquez(1.1M), now Evans(8M)
Net: -£1.2M
If those values are anything to go by that is..
Depay wasnt 31 mil, but 22..and apparently BFS fee may have only been 6mil..
