A third spell with Chelsea?

Would Chelsea fans take him back right now?

He's 60? Wow.

Thinking about it he must be about that age but still. I don't know if he looks younger than that or if time is passing by quickly but reading that surprised me.

Lost to some pub team who hadn't won a Serie A match since 1996.

Saw them losing 2-1 and with him having been sent of twice this season I had to check if he had been sent of again, and sure he had . How can you get 3 red card in a season as a coach.

I was keeping a close eye on the score line as I knew how big this was for Cremonese and how horrible it would be for Roma and Mourinho.

I am genuinely astonished how appalling he has become. I know he won ECL last season but honestly, how outdated is he right now? He has no aura left of any sort, absolutely devoid of tactics, couldn’t even do it now even if given the money. Has the game moved on so much that he’s left in dust? I am shocked by his downfall in the last couple of years, the guy who was once known as a master tactician.

His aura does seem very diminished and wouldn't be surprised if he moved on soon.

On a side note, wonder if Spinazzola will make a big move somewhere before he retires (he's now 29)? I saw highlights of their most recent European game and he's still rapid as feck and got two good assists. I see he also scored Roma's only goal tonight.

He was brilliant at the Euros but suffered a horror injury and maybe blew his chance of a big(ger) move. Hope he gets one although Italian players don't tend to move abroad so it'd be Juve, Inter or Milan then.

3 points behind 2nd. He is a dinosaur but not sure why so much hate for him. I'd rather see Jose win Serie A than any other coach
He tried his hardest to run our club into the ground. It's not exactly a mystery

I wonder how the fans of Roma feel about Mourinho right now because they welcomed him there as some kind of a Demigod..

Watched the game live and the score line does not tell the whole story, Cremonese were unbelievably lucky. Roma were poor, lots of players having an off night, Cremonese were on another level with the shithousery though and the ref fell for every trick so no surprise Jose exploded. The non call for the foul on Spinazola right on half time was fecking outrageous, two footed scissoring his ankle and a full 3 or 4 seconds after the ball had gone, it is a miracle he wasn't injured again.

They've been really good so far under him, they're very very happy with him. With better strikers than Abraham and Belotti they're comfortably second, won their first ever European trophy last season and are still in EL this season

So they lost to Cremonese, so what, it's football, it happens. They had a bad game(against a team that is much better than their position or the fact they hadn't won yet. They're in the cup semifinal, made things hard for every big team on their stadium)

Mou accused the 4th official of serious insults and is planning to take legal action

As far as I know they absolutely love him and he's done a fairly decent job. One of the Italian journalists said recently that Jose has brought the fans back, the attendances are well up and he's basically viewed as a hero.

Agree. People on here don’t like Jose but he’s doing fine at Roma so far, certainly much better than at Spurs.

Think Roma haven’t finished in top 4 for some time and it could well happen this season.

Yep. He's also still generally beloved by his players too, despite Karsdorp

He's only there because of how shit the other teams have been not to mention Juve got a -15point penalty. If they don't make top 4 he needs sacking.

Interested what better strikers they could attract? O.k Abraham and Belotti have their hold up flaws but both pretty lethal in six yard box with right quality of crosses and Dybala can obviously drop off and do the link up with midfield. For a non CL side I'm not sure how many teams across europe have a superior selection of strikers. Could always recall Shomurodov I guess....

Was a very poor result for Roma but their general 18 month strength under Mourinho has been beating the bottom half teams pretty consistently. They struggle more to get wins against the other top 6/7 teams so I think they'll miss out on CL again. Big one for them at home to Juve this weekend.=

Getting to the CL SF under Fonseca really wasn't that long ago, let's not make out they're some minnow. Aside from Dzeko not sure their team back then was that much stronger than they have now.

Edit: Di Francesco was in charge for that tie and they finished 3rd in Serie A. Fonesca finished 5th and 6th in his seasons so Mourinho roughly in line to match that, see if he can make a europa SF.

31 goals scored from 38 xG this season, after 59 from 65 last season. It's the third best attack in the league by xG, and last season was the 2nd. And in both seasons, it's 2nd biggest underperformance in the league, only ahead of relegated Genoa and soon-to-be-relegated Sampdoria, who are last
Abraham the worst underperfomer both seasons, Zaniolo as well and this season Pellegrini and Belotti are also finishing badly

The flaw Abraham and Belotti have is that they're poor at finishing

So the leading theory based on lip reading seems to be the 4th official mocked Mourinho, said something along the lines of "everyone's laughing at you why don't you go home"

Which if true should see him at least demoted to the lower divisions if not outright banned

Talking about Belotti, wtf happened to him? 100m prospect at one point, now he can’t hit a cows arse with a banjo.

Page 52 of the Mourinho thread will go down as one of the most embarrasing in the history of redcafe. You should all look at yourselves in the mirror.

Where the grass is greener.
I was quite the Jose fanboy before his time here, it’s amazing how little I care for him now after how he acted when he was in charge and what he did to the fan base. Such a toxic, unpleasant and miserable period. It was bleak, so bleak I am amazed how so many Utd fans still have a soft spot for him, I don’t hate him, in reality I just think he’s a bit of a plonker now.

Nothing. He just had a fluke season where he scored by farting in the general direction of the net, then went back to being a farly average player
