Apologies if this has been posted.

Not sure if I should be happy at that. We only managed one goal and that too with the last shot on goal in the last minute. Shades of Moyesy Fulham game where we put in around 50 crosses and didnt even score, did we? But on the bright side we are ditching LVG's system at an alarming pace and I am thrilled about that.

You wot m8?

poor finishing/flukey defending is far different than pumping in 50 crosses with little signs of success.

Good to see a Championship coach also invited.
Yeah I was also wondering how the manageR for Newcastle got himself invited to such esteemed company?

But then again Mourinho is the manager of a Europa Cup team!

You better be kidding,it was wave after wave of attacks and with Moyes it was pointless crossing.

How did Mourinho use the front 4 against Hull? (I missed the match)

Did they interchange again? Saw the Rashford goal and it seemed Rooney was running down the left with Zlatan and Rashford in the middle..?

In the 60th minute, Mkhitaryan entered the fray at the expense of Martial. 11 minutes later, Rashford came on, at the expense of Juan Mata. I felt Rooney from this point was playing on the left, potenitally due to Jose having confidence in his crossing ability, given he'd assisted Zlatan with crosses both at Southampton, and Leicester, but also perhaps that with Rooney's intelligence and experience, maybe he'd be more receptive to provide width and doing one for the team. I felt Rashford was playing as a shadow striker, in the ilk of Dybala alongside Mandzukic, and if that example isn't palatable, then one further example would be Griezmann's role alongside Giroud at the Euros from the Quarter Finals and onwards. Zlatan of course, having a similar role to that of Mandzukic or Giroud. Rashford's exuberance led to instant gratification, as suddenly we had two mobile players behind Zlatan, concurrently, the team as a whole began operating with an increased tempo. In the 20 minutes Rashford was on, he was a threat on the left by attempting to take on the full back, he was often in close proximity with Zlatan and when he received the ball he would run towards the goal, committing players, pushing them back. He set up Mkhitaryan (situated on the right) from a central area, and from the right hand side, put in a dangerous cross. And as you witnessed, he was in a central area when he scored. Mkhitaryan was playing on the right on paper, but as it's always been the case with him, particularly at Dortmund he naturally drifts into central areas in the pursuit of space, and he done just that with perhaps the most notable example being when he ran through three players with consummate ease from a central area. At times, it was Rashford who momentarily went to the right while Mkhitaryan went into central areas

Mkhi and Rashford were popping up everywhere. Zlatan was pretty static though that's understandable.

Marca carrying a report saying, according to Mourinho's inner circle, he's the happiest he's been in years. He's more relaxed, he's enjoying things and he's loving working with the players he has.

The Madrid experience seemed to turn sour after a while and he was probably never too pumped about going back to Chelsea, when he clearly wanted the United job.
Glad to see him at the right club and loving it

Dude. It was over 80 crosses against Fulham.

Players will get slaughtered on here and rightly so. But he has to take his fair share for hat first half.
Set up to stop them, worried about their threat and it hasn't worked. You don't allow a team to press you in a derby on your ground. City were e first to press and haven't looked back.

Major balls by him with the Lingard inclusion for Martial. No other way to see it.

I don't think he is to blame here. Our players are just playing like this is a training match. No matter what tactics you use, at the end of the day the players are just as important.

The king is naked.

Pep is far superior to mourinnho.
Jose simply gave the match away to city.

One for the unpopular opinions thread but if van Gaal's United set up and played like that, he'd be rightly lambasted. Mourinho should take some criticism for how much of the first half has played out.

Piss poor, to be honest. We've needed another midfielder in there (which means dropping Rooney) from about the tenth minute.

Lingard or Mkhitaryan should have taken an early bath, too.

No way would we have ended the 1st half with Van Gaal's side in fairness. Going into half time with some hope which considering we are 3rd best, could be a lot worse.

Definitely agree here, hope today is a learning for Mourinho. Massively underestimated City

We could well come back and win it in 2nd half though.

But for first half, it was odd. We tried to play counter with 2 players who haven't started for EPL and showed rightly why they haven't yet. Hoofing the balls and not winning much of it despite having taller team etc.

Pretty weird stuff.

He needs to change things at HT. Would be massive if we can come back and win this but on the first half performance, it's going to be difficult.

Miki and lingaard gamble haven't paid off. Understand that those two are most fresh out of all our wingers, but they hardly look close to 100% match sharpness
