You simply cannot perform at such continuous disgraceful levels (that goes for everyone) and expect to be applauded off game in game out. Our fans were gonna snap at some point and unfortunately for him he was a likely candidate due to being one of the worse players to have ever played at the club. Him being subbed in a first half has been coming for a while. He was lucky it didn’t happen against Plzen.I saw him really close going down the tunnel and he was destroyed. Shameful from the fans.

I don't know if it was racism but the hate Pogba got was always a little weird. We were always visibly worse without him on the pitch and he carried us throughout many periods. Yes, he had bad periods too, but no more than any other player and when he was good, he was easily our best playerStop this nonsense now man. He's been a horrendous signing. He claims himself he's a 9.5? If so why sign him (for the tenhag system) when we clearly needed goal scorers. BafflingZirkzee was horrendous tonight.
It was totally unfair to Fellaini. Fellaini always gave it his all and played to the full extent of his ability. Zirkzee is half the player Fellaini was, while expending less than half the effort.Only other time I can think of is Fellaini and that was equally as disgraceful from our fans.

However...he's a very strange signing. No obvious position, not a goalscorer, not a #10, no pace, not aggressive.
You look at his profile and his goal record...he's not getting into a very average Holland side ahead of Wout Weghorst...alarm bells were ringing.
He's the kind of slow moving technical football that can only really do well in Holland and Serie A. He has some positive attributes but the games far too quick for him.
I feel sorry for him that he was given that reception, really whoever OKd the signing should be taking that heat.

We have a whole corral full of space goats at this club. Antony, Maguire, are two recent ones.I don't even think we've seen the real 'Joshua Zirkzee'. We've seen glimpses of it...... and since then we've seen a player slowly sink more and more into his shell. He'll probably go and be a success elsewhere instead of the pressure cooker that is MUFC at the moment. Like, who is playing well right now? Who is thriving? Who is even, doing ok?

We rarely boo our own players and if you are going to do it, it has to be for something really effed up, like what Sancho did. I wasn't a season ticket holder back when Nani/Fellaini were booed, but since I became one (2017/18), this was easily the most audible booing of a United player by United fans that I have heard.I heard booing on the tv it was noticeable.

Zirkzee just isn’t cut out for either the EPL or Amorim’s system. He’s a big body and is quite skillful (particularly for his size). At times, he seems to see the pitch very well. Overall, though, he’s simply too slow and passive to succeed here. He doesn’t play with any obvious passion or edge whatsoever. I believe that’s why many fans voiced their displeasure with him. He was awful. It’s difficult to have much sympathy for him when he consistently fails to even compete at an acceptable level. Does he ever win a race or a 50-50? Not really. He can’t play as a 9, and isn’t the type of 10 that Amorim would want. It’s easy to see why he looked good in Italy, but it’s hard to see him turning it around at United. He just looks overwhelmed by the stage.

Tbf, he had some decent games here and there. Someone in this thread said he looked sharp while warming up. He could be great in training and it probably did not translate to a good performance in the game. Good question. Lack of options? He rightfully likes Amad, so that’s one of the 10 spots filled. Bruno was suspended. Mount is injured. Rashford is on his way out. He clearly isn’t enamoured with Garnacho. He doesn’t see Mainoo as a 10, and was perhaps trying to keep him fresh for Liverpool. I suppose Eriksen could have played as a 10, but Amorim chose to start him in a deeper role. Zirkzee may have been seen as the best of a bad bunch of choices. BUT...having somehow lucked out on getting a move to United he didn't bother with pre season, was unfit at start of season and has since strolled about the place, dodged his duals etc.

I found this clip deeply disturbing way back when we signed him but ignored it and hoped for the best. One of the worst misses I've seen in my lifetime and so far at United, that kinda sums up his time here. Worst player I have ever seen play for us in my 20 years of following.
