Good first half, and then faded in the second. If he can do the simple hold-up play like he did before the break, then he should start. Højlund is delivering the opposite of that.

Amorim is poor to play a false 9 with bloody Bruno Fernandes.

his shooting technique in the box is weird he always seem to hit a player in front of him. Still less of a donkey than Hojlund.
He's frustrating. He had some useful moments in that first half when he held up the ball and did a great job to win the penalty. Aside from that, he doesn't offer much of a goal threat. The only way to really get the best out of him is to have pacey players next to and around him. I feel like both him and Hojlund are half-players and both combined would get us somewhere a little bit closer to a real player.
He has some skill but he isnt what we need. We needed a goal score and instead we spunk £40m on zirkzee.
Not his fault our forward line is dire. Bruno can maybe play as a left sided 10 but both he and Zirkzee need runners/wide forwards who can beat a man and we currently have no one except Amad who can do this. Also teams are getting wise to how good Amad is and beginning to overload that area.
Much better than hojlund.

His finishing is shite, but goodness gracious, he brings 10x more to the team than Hojlund.
Helps our team more than Hojlund does but is pretty average himself. Average PL striker compared to a championship level striker are our options right now
Nice link-up, some nice passing also. He's not pulling up any trees but he is involved in our attacks, something that Hojlund struggles with.
Played as well as you'd expect. Decent game by his standards but it's low bar as we've scrapping bottom of the barrel for all our performances.
Lacks the tenacity and intensity of our forwards of the past but he is technically a decent player.
Miles better than Hojlund and should stay in a team for a while, even though he is far from great solution himself. But at least technically he is on another level and can make his teammates look better.
Not as bad as the other option, but zero goal threat
Probably his best overall game for us. But, still nowhere near good enough. I’d have given the performance 5/10. Neat hold up play but zero goalscoring threat.

Good first half. Invisible in the second half. I do wonder if he is simply not fit enough for the league. For that reason alone I would keep him and get him properly fit for next season. Not a huge fan, but there is something there.
Brings more to the table than Hojlund but is basically zero attacking threat. I like his neat little one two stuff but then I get frustrated when he gets space to run into and he's just runs point blank into whoever he's supposed to be taking on.

4 goals in 31 games though. We’re really struggling up front between him and Hojlund. In fairness 19 of those were sub appearances but still, not great.

Whilst I don't think Zirkzee and Hojlund are playing to the required standard, it's hard to look past just how shocking we are in build up play, there's just nothing.
Yes that’s correct. It’s been noticeable for years that we depend more on the wingers to score as well. Now we’re playing a system that basically has no wide players.
Basically this, he offers something to the team while Hojlund offers nothing. Neither are good enough number 9s currently for us and the fact that they are our 2 options is utterly horrendous.
Even 4 in 12 is hardly great, our entire frontline at this point is probably being outscored in the league by Salah alone.
And 2 of those in a game where Rashford also scored 2 and most people here, and those at the club have decided he isnt good enough. Also in that game we had one of our only dominating performances against a team that were struggling.
On a normal day or season, his performance today would be a bad Martial game that people would be disappointed with. From what we’ve seen from him and our strikers this season, especially in recent weeks from Hojlund, this was a great performance.

It’s not about better or worse than Hojlund, they’re both not convincing but ultimately they’re very different players.

He just needs runners man. Amad and Dalot were the only potential runners and every Dalot run ends in nothing anyways.

Problem is you can make the excuse for a load of our squad that they would be better with different players around them.

Decent 1st half but we’ll be lucky to get anything more than 8-10 goals from him in a season. Add in our wing backs who haven’t scored all season along with Ugarte and Mainoo the team has far too many starting players that are not a goal scoring threat.

Baleba puts the ball inside Mazraoui where De Light was previously covering and off Mitouma runs through on goal and centres for Minteh to score.
The whole shit show for that goal starts with Zirkzee who never bothered closing Baleba who had all the time in the world to pick that pass as well as De Light for continuing the jump when it was a long ball behind with zero pressure on the passer and Mazraoui going to sleep.

Yeah, football isn't that complicated. There are so many players who are no goal threat. Simple as that
He can at least bully defenders, has good strength, really good link up play. But he’s surrounded by other useless players
Maguire played Brighton onside and then couldnt keep up with the Brighton speedsters for that goal. Strange to blame Zirkzee or de Ligt for that.
