At least starmers view will probably be closer to the majority of the publics
Still distorting the truth with spurious links, regurgitated smears and yet more Guido URL's I see. When will you learn...

Most of your list of distortions are based on attending events to maintain dialogue for a peace process. Maybe the fact check link below is a starting point to give you some insight.

Regarding Starmer, do you genuinely belive most of the public want the spycops bill to pass?

I’d be surprised if most of the public are even aware of such a bill.

That would carry more weight if you could find a similar list for the times he met with members of the UDA. Corbyn was no John Hume.

Yeah and probably will support the consequences when the home office and border force start torturing migrants and sabotaging crossings.

EHRC report is due out tomorrow.

Starmer is giving a speech at 11am.

Sorry to come across as an ITK but Labour will be monitoring social media and suspending any members who are critical of the report.

A reminder that a key initator of the EHRC report is the Campaign Against Anti-Semitism, a 'charity' that was formed after the 2014 Gaza conflict in which Israel murdered over 2000 civilians, and was formed inresponse to the criticms of Israel in the aftermath that the founders considered unfair. It is in all likelihood funded, at least in part, by Israel (especially given what Al Jazeera has revealed about Israeli money going into the Jewish Labour Movement – the other key player in this report) given that one of its key aims seems to be to conflate anti-semitism with anti-Israel sentiment.

That does come across as pretty ITK.
I know. We all end up as the things we hate don't we?

I have a friend who works in HQ and he let me know. They are hoping for loads of members who they suspect of anti-Semitism but don't have the evidence to suspend to start criticising the report.

So this for example, if it were tweeted by a member, would lead to their suspension.

So your telling people in order that those suspected of anti semitism refrain from posting something so that they can stay in the party?

Good. I've already left the party. We know that the party has decided that criticism of Israel = anti-semitism. The Israel Lobby won.

The fact that the entire thing is confected is revealed by the fact that this supposedly systemic issue just vanished as soon as Corbyn was no longer leader. Everyone celebrating the success of their campaign against antisemitism should be held responsible for the thousands of people currently uneccesarily dying from covid due to the poor government we are currently experiencing.

No, quite the opposite. I don't know how many here are both anti-Semites and members of RedCafe (although I would love to see that Venn diagram).

From experience in my CLP (which was utterly horrible) the anti-Semites on social media will get suspended and expelled sooner rather than later.

Or those on the Left who hate the idea of implementing the EHRC recommendations will have left the party, or will soon leave. That being said, if you (and the mods) think this is a warning and would be a bad idea, I am more than willing to delete all mentions.

Immediately responding (or in this case pre-empting) a report on anti-semitism by claiming it was orchestrated by Israel is quite a look in itself but then seeming to lay responsibility for COVID deaths at their feet too is just.... *chef's kiss*

Classic Jews Israel, manipulating people to their own ends as always. Some people just can't see the obvious anti-semitic tropes truth.

No that makes sense to me... as I say my inital thoughts were why would you want to warn people
Hopefully as you say most who will resist the ehrc recommendations will hopefully have gone already or soon will

As far as I can tell the "logic" is
Amtisemitism is just something made up by Israel to undermine Corbyn and if it wasnt for that Corbyn would be PM and if corbyn was PM he would have magically stopped the death lurgy and therefore Covid deaths are israels fault... basically its those pesky jews and their secret illiminati style cabal running the world to blame again
Or some tropy twisted version of that - frankly its hard to follow racist "logic"
perhaps @Untied can "enlighten" us further? or you know apologise for his racist tropetacular post?
(though I suspect he will tell us hes not racist and its actually an Israeli funded conspiracy?)

Isn't the report EHRC released today? Yesterday must have been like Christmas Eve for some...

I half expect it to find that unfortunately socialism is now antisemitism because it leads to tropes about wealthy people controlling things. Thus, the key recommendation is that Labour must only ever be led by centrists because the left are all rabid antisemites.

Mr Slander quickly edited your post there :smirk:

There's nothing racist about what he posted, no idea if he can back it up but explicitly calling him racist is ridiculous. Lobby groups exist (as they do on most issues) and they've lobbied on this matter, pointing that out isn't denying anti-semitism. Bad actors (like the guy who submitted hundreds of nonsense complaints) can exist whilst there also being a genuine issue which of course there is in society.

I edited it to put the right @ in there
Do you agree that the Israel lobby are responsible for covid deaths - or do you think that that is a ridiculous conspiracy theory
By the way - before the findings are published Ill say that whatever they say Ill accept and that whatever the recommendations are should be implemented ... will you do the same?

So the only evidence of unlawful anti-Semitic remarks the EHRC could find was people denying that anti-semitism is a problem. The denial of a problem is proof that the problem exists. Amazing.

Immediately responding (or in this case pre-empting) a report on anti-semitism by claiming it was orchestrated by Israel is quite a look in itself but then seeming to lay responsibility for COVID deaths at their feet too is just.... *chef's kiss*

Didn't say anything about Jews or the Jewish community. I'm talking about people like Stephen Pollard (non-Jew), David Miliband, Ian Austin, all of the Labour right, who did everything possible to stop a left-wing government. Any excess deaths as a result of the current government are on them.

The anti-semitism crisis has definitely been orchestrated by the Israel Lobby. I suggest you read the book of the same title by noted Jewish political scientist John Mearsheimer, to understand how that works. Or watch the Al Jazeera documentary The Lobby, which documents how the Israeli embassy in London actively funded groups within the Labour Party including the same people who appeared in the Panorama documentary as 'whistleblowers'.

Of course liberals who have spent years getting in a hissy fit about essentially non-existent Russian interference in Brexit have nothing to say about far more evidenced Israeli interference in UK politics.

and how do you come to that logical conclusion?
Honestly everyone just wants to be able a malevolent government and then just pretend they have no responsibility for its actions.

Ahh yes the current government is managing Covid perfectly and there have definitely not been any additional deaths that good have been avoided with better management.

You of course refuse to engage with the fact that Israel has been directly involved in the weaponisation of antisemitism around the world, and that the conflation of antisemitism with antizionism has been the deliberate (and successful) aim of this period in British politics. Well done everyone. We can now no longer criticise Israeli influence without being antisemitic. Great job.

I still don't see the correlation between being against anti-semitism and then for having that stance being directly responsible for covid deaths. So how do you explain it?

The equalities watchdog found evidence of political interference in the complaints process, with 23 instances of inappropriate involvement by the Leader of the Opposition’s Office (LOTO) and others in the 70 files looked at.

It said this included LOTO staff influencing decisions on complaints, especially decisions on suspensions or to investigate a claim. Some decisions were made because of likely press interest rather than any formal criteria.

In what appears to be a particularly serious finding, the EHRC said:

The Labour Party adopted a practice of political interference in certain complaints and the evidence indicates that it occurred more regularly in antisemitism cases.
The EHRC has found this to be indirectly discriminatory and unlawful, adding that the practice puts the person making a complaint of antisemitism at a disadvantage as they could face different and detrimental treatment and a risk that their complaint would not be handled fairly.

A transparent and independent antisemitism complaints process, where all cases of alleged discrimination, harassment or victimisation are investigated promptly, rigorously and without interference is an essential part of the reforms needed to rebuild trust.
lets see what action starmer is going to take then

As expected really, serious failings that predated Corbyn but they fixed a fair amount of the issues in late 2018. I don't think there's anything in it that we didn't already know.

Does that report really justify the witch hunt?

Unlawful acts Our investigation found that the Labour Party breached the Equality Act 2010 by committing unlawful harassment through the acts of its agents in two of the complaints we investigated. These included using antisemitic tropes and suggesting that complaints of antisemitism were fake or smears. As these people were acting as agents of the Labour Party, the Labour Party was legally responsible for their conduct. This is by no means the full extent of the issues we identified within the files in our sample; it represents the tip of the iceberg. We also saw: • A further 18 ‘borderline’ cases. In these cases, there was not enough evidence to conclude that the Labour Party was legally responsible for the conduct of the individual. These were people such as local councillors, local election candidates and Constituency Labour Party office holders. • In many more files, evidence of antisemitic conduct by an ‘ordinary’ member of the Labour Party. These members did not hold any office or role, therefore the Labour Party could not be held directly responsible for their conduct under the Equality Act 2010. In light of our position as a regulator, we only made findings of unlawful conduct in cases that were sufficiently clear-cut, in Equality Act 2010 and Human Rights Act 1998 terms. We explain this in Chapter 3. If the Labour Party really is committed to building a culture of zero tolerance towards antisemitism, then it must make it clear that antisemitic conduct by members will not be tolerated. It should also deal with such conduct by its members effectively whenever it does occur, regardless of whether it is legally responsible for it.

10. A failure of leadership We have identified serious failings in leadership during the period the investigation looked at, and an inadequate process for handling antisemitism complaints across the Labour Party. While there have been some improvements in how the Labour Party deals with antisemitism complaints, 25 our analysis points to a culture within the Party which, at best, did not do enough to prevent antisemitism and, at worst, could be seen to accept it
Thats pretty bad

We found that the Labour Party committed unlawful harassment through the acts of its agents, including one individual who was a National Executive Committee member. Their conduct included suggesting that complaints of antisemitism were fake or smears, which undermines the Labour Party’s commitment to zero tolerance of antisemitism and ignores legitimate and genuine complaints of antisemitism within the Party. We also found evidence of political interference in the handling of antisemitism complaints throughout the period of the investigation. The Labour Party has shown an ability to act decisively when it wants to, through the introduction of a bespoke process to deal with sexual harassment complaints. It is hard not to conclude that antisemitism within the Labour Party could have been tackled more effectively if the leadership had chosen to do so

Let's see what Starmer does here. It would be the height of hypocrisy for him to sweep this under the carpet after criticising Boris for not following advice from SAGE.

I am reading it... its pretty scathing ref LOTO and political interference... lets see what starmer is going to do about it
Yeah it's a failure but rather than your headline snippets the section clearly lays out that's it's mainly a failure of process and the examples of interference are inappropriate and due to a lack of formal process rather than the leaders office making decisions. It even explains that a lot of that is a lack of clarity on how to handle complaints around key staff and MPs which the party had a policy of getting involved in.

Lets be honest the majority of that report beyond the dickheads we knew about like Livingstone equates to the process not being up to scrap, lack of training and formal procedures etc. All of which was true prior to Corbyn, the failure of Corbyn here is that it took him so long to implement improvements especially with the impact of social media coming to the fore. The not accepting complaints about 'likes' is something i'd not heard and is a load of bollocks though.

Formby despite the attacks made against her did move the procedures and processes to a much better place when she took over.

Recommendations The Labour Party must live up to its commitment to be a political party with zero tolerance of antisemitism; it must rebuild trust and confidence that antisemitism complaints are handled independently, efficiently and effectively. In Chapter 6, we made recommendations for changes to the complaint handling process to achieve this. In relation to sanctions, we make the following additional recommendations.

The Labour Party should:
• Take steps to increase transparency in the disciplinary process, as highlighted by the HASC report, by reporting regularly on the reasons for the final outcome decisions in antisemitism complaints, taking account of legal requirements to publish anonymised information where appropriate.
• Make sure that all members found to have engaged in antisemitic conduct (apart from those who are expelled) undertake an educational course on identifying and tackling antisemitism, regardless of the level of sanction applied.
given LOTO's interference in cases I wonder if that will apply to Corbyn and Formby

Let's take Ian Austin. Deliberately weaponised antisemitism, despite comparing Corbyn supporting Jewish members to the Vichy Government yesterday, actively campaigned for a Conservative government, which has undoubtedly killed people through its response to covid.

Ian Austin simultaneously wants us to believe that Corbyn is/was a grave, perhaps physical threat, to British Jews, whilst enabling a government that has starved someone based on their immigration status and has lead to the unnecessary deaths of 1000s of people. By his own standards he should be held responsible for those.
