He was incredible. Ran the whole midfield himself. We need players alongside him to help him, because he can't do it all himself. But, feck, he was so good.

Nothing that we didn't know already. An absolute baller on the ball, works hard and is very capable of being defensively disciplined but it's a one man midfield with our low block and high press ridiculousness.

Just put in a highlight reel of a performance in that first half. Had so much ground to cover so naturally he'll tire (and he really needs a strong, energetic defensive mid next to him as a deep 2), but just love him. He's a world class talent without a doubt

Almost forgot how great he was because of all the action after he came off but that was brilliant. I said it in the match day thread but that was what we thought we were getting with Pogba

Playstyle reminds me a lot of Seedorf in terms of how he takes off with the ball. Such a mature player for his age, need to get some quality around him.

Mainoo in the first 40 mins was sensational. He looked generational in that midfield battle that we won. Taking on players with a, dare I say it, a Ronaldinho esque nonchalance.

Tired after that, but understandable as he’s still 18.

He's like if Marco Verratti wasn't a constantly injured midget who couldn't really be arsed with football.

No bad for someone who was being compared to Cleverly earlier in the week on here. We need to buy better midfield partners for him. He has scary potential

Excellent again today. So mature, that bit of skill around the edge of the box was brilliant.

Thats total rubbish, they are two different players apart from the colour of their skin. And Pogba was good for us, we just couldnt create a decent midfield all through his stay, partly because of him and also the proper duds we signed with him. Same fate awaits Mainoo if we continue to have players that treat the ball as hot potato

Paul Scholes level potential here ( Not talking style of play). Wish we could see him and Amad together in the middle soon enough.

Has it all. Absolutely brilliant. The only criticism is to not push too far forward when he's playing as a 6, as it leaves us ridiculously open. Other than that, for someone to display the type of performances at his age is scary.

How is this lad 18 and still in his first half season of pro football?

He's brilliant

He is very much like a young Scholes, fans forget how great Scholes himself was at dribbling in tight spaces

Very good until tiredness came in second half. Need just to learn when to go forward and when to fall back. Like Eriksen did when he came on. Other than that, what a talent.

Its day and night between him receiving the ball on tight space compared to Bruno. Add to that he is stronger and can glide across the turf, He needs better partners in middle 3.

He's getting compared to Verratti, Scholes, and Seedorf at 18

Imo though he's more similar to Thiago and de Jong

100+ million talent, not many doubts about it anymore

Also, he's an #8. Of course, it can be good if he steps back into the #6 zone to receive from deep and carry the ball high up the pitch several times in a match, but he shouldn't be our mainstay #6, and definitely not a #6 when we are out of possession. We need to get him that number six partner instead, and he will be even better, and more comfortable in the midfield.

Wow.

I can really see the appeal of Neves because imagine if there were two of those?! Absolutely incredible today. Frightening potential.

I'd build a midfield around him. But we need to switch to a serious possession football to get the best out of him.

Absolutely superb in that opening spell, he’s some footballer. Tough for him in that middle third of the match when Liverpool got a foothold but he still managed lots of crucial touches.
