This would be huge news, after the project got cancelled to the gaming world's dismay. The people originally involved was pretty amazing, such as Guillermo Del Toro, Norman Reedus and Junji Ito (well renowned horror manga artist) attached to it.
This would peak my interest.

The original was incredible. I have really good memories of staying up until the early hours with my dad playing it.

I remember it being definitely. I think it was the first properly scary video game for me. They nailed the atmosphere perfectly.
One of those games I deeply enjoyed and yet I never remember completing it.
