I’ve said years ago people will be surprised where Halaand and Mbappe end up when everybody was equating them to La Liga always having the best players in the world. It’ll be a the definitive sign when both are in England that this league is now the be all and end all of world football but it’ll be a stupid signing for an English club to make.
Only for one that lacks the supporting cast to allow him to flourish.

He'll end up staying at PSG or going to Real.

Those who do have a supporting cast won’t need him?
Not sure how you can jump to that conclusion.
Just spunking 500k to 1m a week on Mbappe without the right players around him would be a waste of time and money.

Liverpool - he could easily replace Salah. Man City, doesn't matter he'd fit in there they could dump Doku, Grealish or Alvarez. Arsenal he'd be a great signing and would almost certainly push them to potential title winners, they could dump Nketiah, Jesus or Havertz.

Spurs / Chelsea/ Man Utd or Newcastle just aren't teams that are in a position for him to come in and flourish and take them to the next level.

Madrid on the other hand have spent the last few years carefully building their midfield and backline, their other forward options are ready, he'd essentially be the final piece of the puzzle there.

You are saying this 6 months after JUDE BELLINGHAM turned down the PL for Real Madrid....

Eventually things will likely get to that point, but we're still very far from it

RM doesn't have a problem competing with EPL over signings, it's the oil money that the club can't compete with, and neither can any other real club.

However, if he does go to Real and has similar levels of production as he did at PSG(and continues his CL excellence). And he also continues his current World Cup trajectory, you can argue for him over Ronaldo.
It would also take a lot for him to surpass Ronaldo career wise and frankly I think is quite unlikely.

One exemption to the rule? And even then Jude is English, he doesn’t have that want to experience English football since he is fecking English!

How many young megastars are around? The young english megastar turned down treble winning manchester city and a bigger contract for Madrid

Last summer players kept turning down arsenal and chelsea for a barcelona in crisis. Bernardo Silva has been trying to move there for the past 3 summers and only lack of money stopped the move from happening

The PL is too rich and getting richer, to the point it's virtially guaranteed that the big PL clubs will overtake the spanish duo eventually in the minds of player. They haven't yet though, not even close

I doubt it will ever happen like that, the PL may have money but that's not the only consideration, the lifestyle and weather is a factor, especially when spouses get involved, Madrid and Barcelona are more attractive places to live compared to the the likes of Manchester or Liverpool, even London suffers a bit in comparison

We have to look at bringing him in, he’s signing on a free - it’s a no brainer

I personally we’d rather stay away. These “ superstar” signings never work out for us.

The only place he would go is Real Madrid anyway, let's not kid ourselves in pretending like there's a hope in hell he'd join us. And lets not do the whole "wouldn't take him anyway".... Because obviously that's nonsense. He's arguably the best footballer on the planet.

Yes we are flush with money as far as FFP goes. We can definitely afford the £500m package he’d cost over 5 years or so would definitely be worth it as he’s the only player we would need to sign for the next 5 years.

Rashford PSG?
"Will save club €200m per year & they will focus on youth / collective" - doesn't really go with the rest of Ornstein's report.

That being said, I do think Rashford is a good "we've got Mbappe at home" replacement if they want to try and replace like for like profiles.

Obviously Madrid is his destination. But ultimately, with his team behind him the destination will always be paying over the odds on wages. They seem to be money first.

If Man City end up with Robocop and Mbappe we all genuinely might as well pack it in. Collectively agree that the next 4 years of football are just friendlies and nothing officially counts

Sign him for 80m and they'll still be saving a truckload of money

Not at all. It's about knowing your worth. Every club in the world would do everything they can to get him.

If it was purely money, he'd stay at PSG for good. Or go to Saudi even. He's going to go to the club that can give him the best platform for future success and for his legacy. He has the capability to be mentioned alongside the top 10 of all time if things go well for him. Of course a player like that should be the highest paid footballer around as well.

Don't even think it's arguable. And yes the Caf members that do the same "no thanks we'd have to pay him too much, superstars don't work etc." just embarrass themselves. I remember when people were saying they didn't want Messi because he'd mess up the wage structure years ago...

interested to see Luis Enrique's management of an Mbappeless PSG, feel like I still know basically nothing of what his level is as a coach
