Not surprised by the results of the two Madrid clubs. Atletico didn't look so impressive, but they're often overrated because of wishful thinking, people want to see someone break the duopoly. Madrid have sprung to life already, and they're yet to see their best football, with Modrić still to recover fully from the World Cup, Isco to gain form and Lopetegui to implement his ideas. It's almost as if they have superb players in their team and can still win everything...

I can't express how irritating it is that some mickey mouse internet company were allowed to buy the TV rights for La Liga. What even is the point of Sky Sports anymore? It wasn't that long ago they had all the CL games AND all the Scottish AND English games.

Huesca has the same points as Atlético de Madrid, and more than Valencia.
Weird game. Huesca played in a fantastic way. They never gave up and caused Barca a lot of problems. Yet they got thrashed. Messi was the difference one again: goals and assists like a true alien.
We need a Europa League for teams from 10th to 20th. People is finally growing tired of watching premier league teams being knocked out of the Europa League by some random romanian or slovakian team in the first rounds(and the supposedly equivalent clubs in Spain advancing to QF, SF or finals), but for some magical reason people think that things would be different for the bottom 10 teams.
I bet you that if they played West Ham on neutral ground they would beat them. Unfortunately we'll never know because only the top 7 or 8 teams in each league play in Europe.
Roque Mesa can't complain about not staying on for 90 minutes, but that second yellow is just silly.
Huesca got thrashed because Barcelona are a brilliant team full of world class players, not because Huesca are a useless team that would struggle to beat Accrington Stanley.
Its a bit of both. Huesca would undoubtedly struggle in the Premier League and take a few beatings from Man City/Liverpool etc.
But the fact Real and Barca have completely bossed the CL in the 5 past years, not only shows how far they are ahead of everyone else in Spain, but the fact that they're also miles ahead of every other team in Europe as well.
La Liga might me a boring two team league, but they've made the CL a boring two team tournament recently as well.

At times Carvalho was able to take 5-6 touches before anyone closed him down. Roque Mesa was all over the place and deserves a kick in his arse for riling himself up. What an idiot. Pretty intense game and both sides didn't hold back.

City had more +4 goal blowouts than Barca last year, yet you don't see people posting how horrible the EPL is when it happens.
Real Madrid and Barca have been the top 2 for 8 out of the past 10 la liga seasons. Together they also have won 7 out of the past 10 UCL's.
Sure Barca have been knocked out earlier more recently, but it doesn't negate the fact that even if one of Real/Barca fails, the other goes on to win. Bit like Nadal, Federer and Djokovic in Mens Tennis. One or two of them might make an early exit, encounter poor form, but even in that case one of the other big 3 usually goes onto win. 85% of all tennis slams since 2004 have been won by Nadal/Djokovic/Federer. Its the same kind of domination for Spanish and European football exerted by both of Real/Barca at the moment.
People moan about the lack of young talent coming through in mens tennis, but at the end of the day, it's not that there's not enough young talent about, its just that the big 3 are so bloody good. Same with lower league Spanish sides getting pasted by Real/Barca.
I do agree with the assertion that seeing scorelines like Barca 8-2 Huesca isn't because its a poor league, rather because of Real/Barca have been comfortably the best 2 teams in the world for the past 5 years.
I didn't know the quality/prestige of La Liga was based on the ability of promoted shite teams to avoid being thrashed by Barça or Madrid.
