Embarrassing for Leicester to lose to Liverpool reserves and just staggering why Brentford would play a reserve team when they have a chance of a trophy and the next game is 4 days away.

Arsenal v Liverpool
Chelsea v Tottenham

The first legs will be the week of 3 January with the second legs a week later.
Avoiding Conte, Tuchel teams and getting a poor mans Pep managed Arsenal. A lucky night all round for Klopps men.

Who will Arse miss? Pepe, Partey?
Oh yeah Partey I think. Their fixtures in January are hard as well. City then Liverpool, then Forrest in the FA Cup, then Liverpool and then Spurs in the space of 16 days.

Reserve team? 8 of the 11 that started their last league game started tonight.
We did have 10 starters not starting but the team that finished the game was fairly strong.

The semi final of this is 2 legs..

What a joke of a competition, means nothing when one of the big sides inevitably win it, and yet they have to congest an already packed winter schedule even more. Glad we're not in it

I wish we could finally win a trophy. Been a long time and we bottled many good chances.

Think winning League Cup in late February/early March would give extra motivation and self-belief to both Spurs and Arsenal in top 4 fight, plus they won't play in Europe so will have plenty of energy and basically play one game a week, so don't want any those 2 teams to win it (though it would be nice for Tottenham to finally win a trophy). Don't care about Chelsea or Liverpool much and they should be able, if interested, to beat Spurs and Arsenal over 2 legs.

In recent years it was always City winning Carabao Cup and this year it'll be one of these 4 big clubs, so it does show how difficult it is for 'smaller' teams to win even lesser trophies.

Can’t complain about the draw we’ve had it easy so far. The 2 legs thing is ridiculous IMO but again I believe it’s in our favor as Pool will need to rotate more than we do. They will also miss Mane/Salah more than we will miss our AFCON players. Great chance for us to win this now.

Klopp will out a silly lineup out again and still cruise past Arsenal.
It just depends how strong Chelsea go in the semis.

Hopefully Liverpool get bogged down with these extra games and still lose out.
