I just tried to sign in and iPadOS alerted me that my password had been found in a leak. Is that something that affects others here too? Changed it right away, obviously.

I thought the caf had advanced security for things like this.

For example if try to post your credit card number it's automatically censored

See: xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx

Give it a go

The leak will have been from another site and not the caf.

Enter your email here: https://haveibeenpwned.com/

and it'll tell you which places got hacked.

I recommend using a password manager and a different password for every site you're on.

Make sure all the services you use have app-based two factor authentication.

Some of the popular online password managers (i.e. passwords stored in the cloud) are LastPass, Bitwarden and 1Password and the most popular offline password managers (i.e. passwords stored locally on your machine on an encrypted file) are KeePass and its fork KeePassXC.

Its a pretty routine occurrence among people who have been using the same (or very similar) password for years. At some point, there will always be a hack of a website where you've selected your password to be stored for login convenience, followed by it being sold as part of a large trove of passwords on the dark web.

The obvious way around this is to rotate passwords (perhaps use a password manager) and always use 2-factor authentication.
