I thought It was going to be third time lucky when we brought in Telles but it is starting to look like we have got another dud

I mean Brazillian LBs bar few rare is brought in for their attacking abilities which Telles has plenty in his locker.I think Telles has been fine so far, especially when you factor in the adapatation to a new team and country. He's clearly very good in a technical sense.
That said, his strengths do make him an odd signing for our 'system' (I'm not sure we actually have a system, but I can't think of another word). We have exactly one forward who has good movement in the box and can attack a cross. We also have no real player who's a genuine scoring threat from crossed set-pieces. Those are literally Telles 1a and 1b strengths.
So, yeah, I like him as a player. Very comfortable in possession...but even when we were first linked it seemed like a very square peg in a very round hole.
A more dynamic, probing full-back like Reguillon would have made a lot, lot more sense on paper.

He is one of the best signings under Ole.
