 So says the poster plastered on the outside of Anfield.

What's worse, is that they actually believe it. How being the second (probably third) best side in the country and having won a mere one European Cup in the past 23 years makes them 'the cream of Europe', I don't know.

But then again, maybe I'm missing something - are Liverpool really the cream of Europe? Perhaps our Scouse friends on here can enlighten me..

It's that annoying cream you get on the top of milk when it's starting to go off....when you get bloody great lumps of it in your tea you realise it's time to throw it out...

They have performed the best in the Champions League over the last 5 years. Over the last 2, possibly 3 years, we have been the best.

Lot of Vermin threads tonight. Won´t be surprised if i wake up tomorrow and the fecking scum actually won a trophy this year. Hope the security at OT is on guard

I'm not sure if anyone top a victory, a semi and going out in the groups.

No I didn't understand how they could've been the best for the last 5 years if we where the best for the last 3 years..that leaves them with 2 years to be the best of. One less than us, ergo, we've been the best for the last 5 years.

I still think AC & Barca might, but I see your logic

You get a coefficient score for how good you've been in each season. Their total over those 5 years is greater than ours, largely because they did so much better than we did in 2005.

Its like if we won it one year and went out in the Last 16 the next 4 years running, and another team went out in the quarters every year. They've topped us in 4 years out of 5, but we'd still have a greater score than them.

What a cringeworthy campaign that is.

Champions Of England, Champions Of Europe, Champions Of The World

THAT has a ring to it

They jump onto any piece of glory they can get their hands on - the 'Torres breaks record number of goals for a foreigner in a debut season' trophy, the 'We've did the double over United' trophy, the 'We've won the Premier League Christmas' trophy and let's not forget the 'We've lost the least number of games in any top league in Europe' trophy. After the standard they set in the 70 & 80's, you can understand their need to grab any glory they can as they've been starved of it lately :D

Just broken my long standing tradition of never putting Liverpool players in my fantasy league team.

Took an 8 point deduction so I could put Gerrard and Torres in

Gerrard is captain

Don't forget Reina with the most clean sheets.

Surely we should unveil a far more tasteful Cream of the World monument...

..Maybe on a Ceramic Cow?

If the press/media had anything to do with it they would present the premiership to the shit now, they are literally creaming themselves in anticipation.I will be delighted when they are writing the obituaries of another Liverpool season

Maybe it's because Liverpool have won 5 European Cups, far outshining any other clubs from England. Or it could be for a 30 year span,no club in Europe won as many European Cups than Liverpool. Or possibly it could be that Liverpool had the only Mgr in history to win 3 European Cups with one team.

Past glories?

Maybe it should read...

"Former cream of Europe (now kings of qualification)"

Yesterday:::::...

:nono: AC Milan... they even did it in less time 5 in 19 years.

That doesn't make you the cream of Europe. It makes you "The best team from England in European Competition."

They're the best team in Europe according to the UEFA European Coefficients. Didn't Rafa point that out recently? Fiendishly difficult to argue against that tbf

Little did they know, there were a bunch of warriors hiding inside that thing, waiting for the scousers to be drunk at night.

"Q. Who can lob seaman from 50 yards?
A. Nayim."

Good enuff?

Im so ashamed a sat here for a good 30 seconds chortling at that.

Seriously though, I don't get how in they can be the "cream of Europe" when AC Milan and Real Madrid have not only won it more times than them, but also more times than them over the last 25 years. We have too by the way.

Because, well...... they are a bunch of deluded idiots

They're considered as the Cream of Europe right because AC.Milan and R.Madrid aren't even performing to some decent level.Out of the 3 Liverpool is the only club which has performed consistently well in the CL in the last few years.
You can call it short memory but I think it's how it is

Yes, but four of those European Cups were from the 70/80's, we're talking about the European competition from the last 5 years.
