    Liverpool's bench, towards ours.

Subs: Matip, Lallana, Minamino, Fabinho, Shaqiri, & Origi.

We must get the squad we need in the next couple of seasons.

Our style of play makes big game more favorable to us. Not expecting a spanking like City did to us in the Carabao cup but I think we might be brought back down to reality again like the Arsenal game. It basically depends on if our players decides to show up. We can make it difficult and uncomfortable for Liverpool, or just be submissive and go in this match already defeated. However, I feel like we will show up.

Is Rashford out or is it a wait & see kind of deal?

Played it on FIFA the other day and won 8-5 with Liverpool leading 3-0 and 4-1. Hattricks from Martial and Rashford. I am going with that.

Arsenal made us their bitch when visiting them. I think this will end up the same way, especially our attack.

Do we think Ole will go with the back 3 again?

My only doubt is cos that will probably mean Phil Jones playing :nervous:
Please. Not Jones for goodness sake. That is the last thing we need.
Most important is that we either score first or hold them to half time.
If they score first then we could be in trouble.

I am expecting a very good and very hard working performance from United and a win would be terrific.

If we’re expected to lose this, I hope we don’t go with a back 3. Straight 4231 like we played against city and play on the break. Vital that Rashford plays.

One of the astonishing stats I've come across is that Liverpool have had just 2 more shots on target than us this season: 131 vs 129.

I think we are taking too many speculative shots which don't really bother good keepers.. We have gone to the other extreme than under LVG when we were incredibly pedantic regarding shooting. Liverpool are much more restrained and calculated in their approach.

That stat is all the more astonishing considering we’ve gone entire games without a single shot on target. To your point, many of our shots are directly at the keeper, while Liverpool’s forwards more often demand goalkeeper movement for the save. I expect this will improve as our youth becomes more confident shooting.

As truly miserable as this post is, once other results go our way this weekend we need to just get this fixture out of the way and move on. Should all around us drop points then this weekend can be written off and move on to midweek

Results have been kind to us today in the case we lose tomorrow. Might fall further behind top 4 though as Chelsea could still win.

The cause of this is that whilst apparently Rashford, Martial & Greenwood are scoring competitive levels to Liverpool - they hardly actually play together.

Ole still plays Daniel James on the right which leads to our right hand side being less clinical, more cross oriented than shot oriented than when Greenwood plays.

Mane & Firmino & Salah hardly change - they are clinical forwards especially the outer 2. The same can be said about us but only really Rashford gets to play games all the time & that shows with the goals he scores per game.

I wonder how many of those 129 attempts were terrible attempts from Rashford, Fred and Pereira...

Although they also miss the target quite often

Normally I'd fancy us to get something out of this match but purely because of the fact that everyone bar Wolves have dropped points today, we're just bound to lose.

Bruce does Man United a favour. If as expected United lose tomorrow we'll remain 5th and 5 points off 4th.

So we'll stay 5th, with a possibility of being 2 points behind Chelsea after tomorrow! I expect a good game, especially with our official game raiser status these days. Despite Liverpool's maddening consistency, they haven't exactly blown teams away too often this season. 10 of their 20 league wins have been by a single goal margin. And the commentary after many of their games has been about finding a way to win despite... We may well lose it but I don't see any battering in prospect. I firmly believe we have a chance of getting something, even without Rashford.

Already a good weekend for United regardless of having the most difficult fixture of the season. Play without fear and we can get something.

I think Rashford will play. We need him, he’ll have injections to deal with the pain.
