I´m confused. Didn´t the Besiktas fans throw firecrackers and shit into the Lyon block and as a result they opened the gates to release the fans onto the pitch?

I can see this as a case of 'hardship' (sorry don't know which word I'd use) that brings the squad even more together etc.
It's a suspended ban, meaning that they will only be banned if there is a repeat of the crowd trouble.

This is a suspended ban and will probably be reduced in appeal.
But it's suspended for 2 years, so unless something else goes wrong it's "as you were" really.
Feck, thought that meant that the suspension applies only during the next two years, as in if the next time they qualify for Europe is in 2019-20, the ban is not active anymore.

Some Lyon fans were involved in prematch brawls and were prepared for kicking opposing fans in the stadium as you can see behind, plus some use of fireworks.
