Maguire with Rashford’s pace or Rashford with Maguire’s mentality

Like him or loath him, we’ve all begun to appreciate the mental fortitude displayed by Harry over the past few months. He’s taken a pasting and come back from a position where lesser men would have crumbled. We can definitely say that requires a certain bloody-mindedness and desire to prove the doubters wrong.

He’s also slow as a fecking milk cart with flat tires.

Rashford on the other hand is faster than the human eye can follow. Unfortunately, depending on your position, he’s either wilted under the pressure or decided he’s too good to be sullying himself with such low-down activities like marking or tracking back….or getting involved in the game at all.

So who you got? A lighting-fast Maguire or an iron-willed Rashford?

Maguire with pace for me as Rashford even with Maguire’s mentality would still have his own footballing IQ, decision making and constant on/off form.

Maguire.

More "will" wont solve Rashford's more glaring weaknesses.

Rashford's pace stat seems to have decreased recently to be honest. Sure he's lost a yard.

Not really a fair swap, Maguire with Rashford’s pace would be one of the best defenders ever.

I'll take Maguire with pace. He's also good at staying fit which is a remarkable trait for a post SAF CB, so that would be nice.

Rashford has quality, it seems the temperament is all that’s holding him back. Maguire with pace is still poor on the ball.

Rashford is a fairly crap footballer. Maguire with Rashfords pace would be scary.

Rashfords decision making is his biggest issue. I’ll take Maguire with pace.

Should Maguire’s mentality really be praised? Wouldn’t his 2 solid years of poor form suggest a bit of mental fragility?

Maguire with pace would be ridiculously good. Solid in set pieces, good passer, stays healthy, aerially dominant and a proactive defender.

It really should. If you think it’s easy to come back from the flak he took this summer then you must be the toughest bloke around.

Maguire with Rashford pace would be a GOAT defender.

Rashford has many problems with technique, touch, decision making that can't be fixed with mentality alone.

Odd question but give Maguire Rashford’s pace because i don’t really consider Rashford that good of a footballer and the only thing Maguire’s mentality would change with him is he puts in effort, it wouldn’t change that his overall game isn’t that good.

Maguire with pace would be a great defender.

Rashford with Maguire's mentality wouldn't fix his poor decision making or patchy output.

The guy that had to be stripped of his captaincy because he couldn't handle the pressure is now being praised as a mentality monster.

Maguire 100%. He’d be our best defender with pace (he’s obviously better than Varane at the moment, but I still rate Martinez higher).

We all know that's not what happened at all... be a hater if you want but don't lie to everyone in the process of it

Exactly, doesn’t really add up. It’s like praising Sergio Ramos for his disciple because he managed to go a few months without a red card.

Maguire with Rashford’s pace.

Rashford with a positive attitude won’t really change the fact that he has only two 8/10 attributes; pace & shooting.

Rashford has showed the exact same mental strength as Maguire to come back with a 30 goal season after all the criticism he got in Ole's last season

Hopefully he can do it again after this period of poor form and loss of confidence

Maguire deserves respect for his comeback, but he was shitting himself the past two years under pressure, a strong mentality isn't his thing. I never though pace was his problem though.

A "lighting-fast Maguire" is basically an "iron-willed Rashford"... So, what's the question?

A Maguire with pace would be godlike in performance. Like a Ballon D'or level defender. Imagine a fridge stuck to you and you can't outrun it.
