I would love to think that someone within the legal team of United could possibly sit down and have a look to put into the contract something along the lines of absolute minimums expected or contract could be put into jeopardy. Things like a minimum amount of goals scored or created, game time, his appearance bonus should only become valid providing he is involved with goals that assist in a victory. Failure to achieve targets like this mean loss of bonus. Just a thought. Hopefully though, he will have a conscience and opt to help the club and stop being one of, if not the greediest player around.
On the other side of this debacle, how would we feel if he does come back and actually prove us doubters wrong? ( really cannot see it myself ). What would it take for him to try and change your opinions on him? Does anyone else think this issue has now gone too far and he can't bring back the optimism we had once over for him? I'll be honest, I hate what has happened, whoever wrote the initial contract should be shot with his own doo doo, however, if he can recreate the form which saw us offer such ridiculous wages and bonuses, could you forget the past and let him see out his final two years?
