wow...I think considering the turmoil of the last three seasons, it would be pretty magnificent actually.Even if the season ends with an FA Cup, Europa League and a top 4 finish I wouldn't class it as a magnificent season tbh

When you look at United's overall history if isn't magnificent. We mocked Liverpool fans for gloating about their 'worthless treble' back in 2001 and you wouldn't swap these three trophies for a league title, even with a top-four finish thrown in.wow...I think considering the turmoil of the last three seasons, it would be pretty magnificent actually.
We mocked them then because we were winning better things like the real treble and back to back league titles. When you look at United's overall history if isn't magnificent. But yeah, in light of the mess left by the awful Moyes and LVG eras it sounds pretty magnificent right now.
Correct. The 'Mickey Mouse treble' is a real achievement, it would be a great achievement for us this season and it was a great achievement for Liverpool when they did it. However it paled in comparison to our actual treble we bagged two years previously. That's why we laughed at the time; Liverpool fans called their achievement a 'treble' when we'd actually got the real thing. We mocked them for calling it a treble and gloating like it matched up with our 'real' treble. No-one's saying it's a magnificent season in comparison to our greatest heights, just that it would obviously be a magnificent outcome to this season, and a sign of even better things to come.
I agree with @Brightonian's analysis here too. We need to win all of those games and get ahead of our rivals who play each other before our tough run just after these (made tougher by our City game in hand being played here too). Though the games against the current top five are great opportunities it isn't a stretch of the imagination to think we'll drop a few points, so getting into a good position beforehand will in all likelihood be key to us finishing in the top four.Next 5 league fixtures :
United: Bournemouth, Boro, West Brom, Everton, and Sunderland.
City: Sunderland, Stoke, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea
Spurs: Everton, Palace, Southampton, Burnley, Swansea
Arsenal: Liverpool, West Brom, Man City, West Ham, Palace
Liverpool: Arsenal, Burnley, Man City, Everton, Bournemouth
Chelsea: West Ham, Stoke, Palace, Man City, Bournemouth
Both us and Chelsea should have a game in hand i believe....
Some fans are spoilt silly.Agree. Winning three trophies in a season is brilliant however you look at it! There is no denying that EPL and CL are THE main trophies that everyone covets, but winning three cup competitions is no easy feat either. And EL is a trophy that we have never won before with the added bonus of CL qualification.
Exactly, despite how bad we've been recently, we've still won more than Liverpool have in the last 5 years. Klopp thought he was being clever by fielding crap teams in the cups and getting dumped out of both in a week when they're not even in Europe is pretty crap really. Some fans are spoilt silly.
Look at Liverpool... one league cup in 11 years. At least we're winning trophies.
Feels longer than Roger Federer's uninterrupted reign as world number 1.this is our chance to finally move into 5th. Does anybody know how many weeks we have been 6th? excluding the couple of hours we were 5th a few weeks back
114 days or somewhere around that figure.this is our chance to finally move into 5th. Does anybody know how many weeks we have been 6th? excluding the couple of hours we were 5th a few weeks back

These next 5 games are absolutely crucial if we want to finish in the CL spots. If we're not in 4th at least by the end of this run I just can't see us getting it, because those last few games are tough.Next 5 league fixtures :

Perfect! Cheers.
United are paying for the sins of a previous life - probably committed by Fergie - by being condemned to 6th place forever. It's like one of those sci fi shows where whichever door you choose, you always find yourself back in the same room.
For once, we're in a position to leap 3rd - 5th over a few games compared to being 2-3 games back of 5th.
I do find it crazy that we have been the most in-form team in the league (CFC, excepted) for several weeks and we seem glued to 6th place.
I understand. I wasn't blaming, just pointing out that we shouldn't put too much store in itIts just a way to track our next 5-6 fixtures. We did this before earlier this year - https://www.redcafe.net/threads/fixtures-over-the-next-30-days.424487/
Yeah that's my point mateWe mocked them then because we were winning better things like the real treble and back to back league titles.
10:30.Anyone know if this is 10:30pm or 11:30pm AEST? Website says 10:30pm other sites say 11:30pm.
Yeah, sure. Let's rest our key players and see what happensI think we need to give our key players much needed rest. Zlatan on the bench with Rashford leading the line. I wouldn't play Mhiki even if fit. Would probably keep him fresh for Rostov and Chelsea. Martial and Lingard and Mata should be good enough. We just need to score 2 goals and then slow the game down and prevent any more injuries, wear and tear due to strain and fatigue.
