Can't be arsed with streams today.
Not sure I like that team. Would have put Carrick in even though he started earlier in the week.
    We better bloody win.

    Captain Juan:cool:

Well he's true to his word. He said everyone would get a game. 3-1

Considering we get an injury per game atm it seems I am surprised at no defenders on the bench. My guessing is that if Shaw is injured then Young replaces and similar for Darmian. If a CB is injured Carrick replaces. Risky strategy, where's TFM or Tuanzebe?

I had a dream Burnley scored from halfway line after De Gea's mistake.

Mkhitaryan must have stood up for Rooney in the dressing room. Only explanation I can think of.

No defenders on the bench is a bit weird

I can see that CM getting done on the counter attack.

This is the type of game where we will dominate possession and it's worth the risk of having two offensively minded centre midfielders.

If we were away, I'd want Carrick in the side over Lingard with Mata on the right, but for today this should be fine.

Herrera has been doing just fine when he played with Pogba and Mata...

He's had one good game with that combination, the other games where he's shone he had either Fellaini or Cartrick in with him to help out with the defensive work, and the games in wich Herrera did well in that role weren't passing based, they were workrate based, here we need the #6 to probe and move the opposition around with his passing, not something Herrera does..

Agree but, as Mou pointed out, Carrick is too old to play every game. We have to pick and choose when to use him and today isn't one of those days.

The lack of a #6 we can play consistently is a squad issue rather than a selection issue.

I agree that overall it's a lack of a great option that can play week in and week out, but he has Schneiderlin on the bench and he could have provided workhorse legs to help Ander at the very least, instead we are leaving a huge gap between the midfield and attack.

No defenders on the bench is a bit weird

Young can cover both full back positions and in an emergency Carrick can go centre back. I'd guess that is the thinking. I'd have preferred TFM and left one of the three central midfielders off the bench but there are options if a full back or centre back gets injured.

Stronger XI than I expected. We must have a few players in LVG's "red zone" right now after the last couple of weeks.

Pleased to see Pogba playing deeper for this game. This will suit him more if Burnley sit deep

That defence doesn't fill me with confidence. Darmian will be rusty after he hasn't been starting many games, Lukey is never the fittest lad especially after just recovering from injury, Rojo is not good enough and Blind is fine to compliment a dominant centre back that attacks the ball and dictates the backline. Insane that Keane is the best defender on either team and we sold him for basically nothing.

Annoying that Gray is back fresh after getting that stupid twitter ban after the Liverpool fans were pathetic enough to bring it up after he scored against them, thankfully Defour is out injured, he's been their best player.

Why not at least put Mkhitarian on the bench, even if you don't plan to use him? You could drop Fellaini from the squad and just have Schneiderlin. At least make him look like he's part of the team.

You dreamed about Burnley. fecks sake man, get out there and live a little. Give your subconscious something more to work on.

Captain Mata  but looking at that team even Ibra or Herrera could have been given the captaincy.

Mkhi just can't get a chance even in a brothel. Perfect conditions. Relegation battler, home game, fit and all. Yet, he doesn't have the manager's confidence. Lingard should count himself lucky

Especially since you dont nees 3 CM on the bench

    We're fecked aren't we?
    Both Valencia and Bailly out
With Lpool, Chelsea and Arsenal in top form a CL spot is looking unlikely

You're crazy. When did he earn that?
I thought he played decently enough in his last appearance. I'm not saying he should start this game specifically, but giving him 5 or 10 minutes to impress is neither here nor there really.
