They're going to be burnt out pretty soon. No one can keep up that kind of tempo. Second half should be a cake walk for us.
They’re having regular 5 minute breaks when the game gets stopped for injury.

Feck was that crock of shite I just witnessed?

It's like LVG all over again.
That performance was the total opposite of Van Gaal. He loved total control- passing the ball side to side and backwards! We were playing like headless chickens at 1000 mph

This has to be sarcasm surely?
Isn't it just typical of half this forum when we aren't winning? Immediately claim it's all falling apart, everyone's rubbish etc etc?

Then we score and everything is great again. If the forum was a movie it'd probably be Split.

Garnacho struggling on the left hand side is mainly because everything is going through him right now. Our attack has no balance to it because there's nothing going down the right hand side. It makes it predictable and therefore easy for Leeds to defend.

A lot of talk about Case being out, which is fair, but Antony is the bigger miss here for me.

Weghorst, our striker, offers so little going forward. We could have gotten Chris Wood instead, for real. Doesn’t even seem to be a threat in the air, let alone with the ball at his feet.

Leeds been good, well organized and always a threat going forward with their pace and power. Kudos to them but we should be thrashing this team.
Why would Newcastle have let Chris Wood go to the competition for a top 4 spot?

Our best player Rashford is not involved and wasted on the right. Garnacho is a bit greedy. Not sure why we are ignoring the right side when it is clear that it is not working from the left. We miss Casemiro and Eriksen badly. Fred and Sabitzer are not helping much with the build up play which results in hopeless passes form our defenders. We are too casual. It is fecking Leeds lads.

Poor performance, sloppy and no composure in final third. Garnacho most dangerous, WW needs service.

This is not the game for a new midfield and a returning RB. Dalot is rusty and we're playing with two 8s who don't know when to help your defense out. Credit to the team for recovering well, but that was a very poor goal to concede. It felt like they've never seen Leeds play.

I don't want to be harsh on the kid, but can't shake the feeling that Rashford takes one of those chances. I have no idea why we didn't switch flanks for at least 10 mins that half.

We're desperately lacking composure everywhere on the pitch. Porblem is we've got nothing on the bench. So it's up to EtH to sort their heads out. We have to score within the hour without conceding. Because I feel if Leeds close ranks we don't have enough passing quality on the pitch.

Weghorst dropping deep for no reason. He just takes up Bruno's space.

Ans they wouldn't start either. Both of them are backup options
And they've never played together, bar a few training sessions. They're trying to match the energy of the Leeds midfield but it's playing into their hands. Leeds want this to be played at an erratic pace. Without Eriksen and Cas there isn't anyone on the centre to calm things down though...

I got used to absolutely trashing this Leeds side ever since they got back in the Prem. This is not a good look so far.

Bruno on the right, Rashford on the left and swap Garnacho for Sancho.

Get Bruno to put some crosses in for Weghorst

The absence of Casemiro and Eriksen is predictably painful. Put Rashford left (Garnacho is getting bullied), Sancho right and hopefully Leeds tire in the second half.

Do you mean like the time where Garnacho skipped past him and won a free kick? Or the one where he rounded the keeper and it got cleared off the line? Or maybe the one where he shot a yard wide.

    Joke of a fan base.
This isn’t the gotcha you thought it was. Garnacho is young and learning - he’ll have games like this. It’s bemusing we didn’t switch him to the other side and get our best player back in his best position.

Not many options for us, but Rashy has to either move left or up front. And we have to hope Sancho shows something if he's the one to come on.

Don't think some commenting here even watch the match. Not a preferable scoreline but we have played well. Like LVG? What a joke.

We are losing this aren’t we?. We barely had attack for last few games and now no midfield too. Just bunch of hit and hope in that half. Reminded me of Ole time

Waste of time playing Rashford on the right, we need to either switch him with Garnacho or put him up front and get Sancho on

Not a great evening for Garnacho so far. He has been our main outlet but unfortunately he keeps losing his duel.

Not watching the game but is it as simple as no Casemiro no party?

    Sancho for Weghorst

Move Rashford up front, Sancho on the right and pray to the gods.

This. A little bit of quality would do us well.

We are missing Casemiro badly, Varane in particular is really struggling to play out from the back without him. Makes me wonder, would it have been better going long this match?
The problem is Weigy is so painfully slow that the ball has to be absolutely superb accuracy and weight.

That Casemiro red is an absolute beast of a blow.

Might not be the game for a new midfield but with Eriksen taken out by a thug and Casemiro suspended there is no other option than a new midfield.

Oh christ. This channel has Michael Owen offering his views.

I'd almost forgotten he was a thing.

Why does everyone think Igahlo was so bad? Thought he was OK and offered more than this Weghost.
