Very much looking forward to the league programme resuming. I didn't think the game against Brugge offered much in the way of a test, so I'm hoping to see our side tested more against Newcastle so we can really evaluate our side (although not too much).
I still have a few concerns about Romero. We have seen glimpses of him in action but thanks to the stability in defence and lack of testing opposition, he's remained relatively quiet thus far. I'd like to see better communication between Romero and his back line. I highlighted this as a concern prior to his debut and there were 1 or 2 pulse racing moments against Spurs. One back pass very nearly ended up in the back of the net despite Romero saving the situation by the skin of his teeth.
Rojo must be coming back to full fitness which raises the question of the Centre back position. Will LvG keep Blind? I was a sceptic at first, but I'm growing to admire his performances so far. However Rojo can offer that much needed chemistry that I think Romero could do with - so it's an interesting one.
I'd like to see Schweinsteiger start this game and have Carrick on stand-by. Schweinsteiger offers us security and control in the middle of the park. I'd also like to see Herrera's influence at some stage. Judging by his social media accounts he seems very supportive of his colleague's work, although I'm sure he's desperate to get some playing time. Would like to see him slot in front of Schweinsteiger and Schneiderlin with Memphis and Young on the wings. Ashley Young is another player in form who I'd like to see start.
Here's hoping for a comfortable ride! 2-0 United.
