So long as Rooney, Ronaldo and Nani don't end up being isolated from the rest of the team, which is what usually happens when we try this. Bit spazzy for a home game. Doubt Lyon will just fold in like Le Arse did.

Would probably have started Tevez instead of Fletcher, or Nani even, and then had Anderson in the Giggs role. As in, I'd play our best team in the supposed biggest games. No matter though

That's a fecking ridiculous bench, mind

I believe that SAF has put in a very strong MF that will be able to neutralize any movement that Lyon has forward. Yet be able to play back and help stop any forward counters that they may be able to take.

I say we take this one and look for either Carrick or Fletcher to have a huge match!

where is noodlehair's customary pre match line up rant?

Its been a pretty good omen for us this season. Come on noodle, get your finger out.

thats nowhere up to your usual standard. If we lose, you're to blame.

Exactly. Of all our central midfelders, he seems the most willing to get into the box these days.

That is true.

To be fair, I have to give Fergie credit for picking a team based on form and not on name. To play Fletch instead of Hargreaves or Scholes is a big move, and I would love if it paid off.

I think it is a very good team and a testiment to the strength of our squad that Fergie can leave out Tevez, Scholes, Hargreaves on a crucial European Night. Old Trafford is rocking!

With no Scholes or Giggs, there is a lot of responsibility on young players. It will be interesting to see if they have the mental strength, especially if Lyon fall behind. Carrick is the most senior player in midfield! Also need Rio to put in a captain's performance.

I'm interested to see how it will work. There's a lot more attacking intent in that midfield than there is usually, and a lot more energy.

Plus, no Hargreaves, which suggests we're more interested in playing than stopping them from playing.

Carlos Tevez is too good to leave out for these games though, I would have thought
