Mourinho can smell and differentiate between a winner and loser almost instantly after he met them. Clearly he sees through what kind of person Martial and Pogba is. They are talented players , but having talent is meaningless without consistency . Should have sold both and earn around 150m ( after world cup , Pogba was one of the most expensive player in the world ) and use the money to back Mourinho so he didn't turn toxic. United sack Mourinho for 20m sacking fee , give 250k p/w for Martial just for few months purple patch , and might losing Pogba again for free. Anyone behind those decisions must be sacked immediately.

Dalot is better defender than AWB. You guys finally capable of getting 2 straight clean sheet after so long with dalot instead of awb. Sliding tackle isn't good sign of a defender nor it was a good way to defend , it should only be used as last attempt to clean up you or your teammates mess. Top defender read the game , stay on their feet , force the opponent to where they wanted them to go , try to nick the ball from their feet therefore keep possession. Anyone who thinks AWB is better at defending than dalot understand nothing about football. If you think AWB is better just because Ole prefers him over dalot then you should remember who ole is , an absolute failure as manager no club is going to bother hiring him.
Didn't bother reading after the first statement. How can anyone say that with a straight face after he was not able to groom the likes of of Salah, KDB, etc. Fell out with almost everyone in that RM team who then won 4 Cls on the bounce. Mourinho would always turn toxic irrespective of anything you do and his shelf life is not more than 3 years (if you're lucky). Earlier people used to tolerate it as he at least won the major honours. Now in his last 2 stints, he has even failed at that.

Imagine being told that you can easily be replaced by some Swedish kid from the academy when you cost the club £50m?

By that same token we replaced Lukaku, a £90m player with Greenwood, some kid from the academy, but as you know, football isn’t that black and white. If Elannga makes even half the impact Martial has in his time here, he’d have done really well, so let’s not pretend it’s a like for like swap. You lot will use any excuse to have a pop at our players, it’s weird.

Only thing Jose Mourinho can smell is the stench of the shite that he’s been producing as a manager for the past 8 years

Definitely time to go for all parties best interests.

He had some really good moments here, but also some really anonymous displays, where we couldn't quite break the notion that his heart wasn't quite in it. Especially versus someone like Rashford who put himself through the pain benefit consistently to his own detriment.

Just hope we can get a decent fee.
If it's an onloan where we pay 50% of the wages type scenario, or 10m or something that'll be horrible.
But it's always the problem for us, we bang players on outrageous wages and struggle to shift them.

He's not a counter attacker and not a presser.

He's good in a possession system but only a few teams play that anymore.

I know some still can't get over the dramatics but he's not really wrong. It may be more accurate to say Jose identifies and falls out with players who don't have the right attitude very quickly.

I'd say the same if Keane. They demand all players have the attitude of a top player, that's an aside to managerial ability.

I get the impression Ralf has the same expectations he just isn't toxic like the above two.

On topic it was evident Martial didn't have the attitude of a player that wants to create the best version of themselves. Time to get rid of such players as they don't create the environment we need for others to prosper.

Oh great! Another Mourinho cult member has joined the forum. 12 posts about Mourinho. Get over it, Mourinho got fired at United in 2018. He got fired again at Tottenham for being a past it manager. It's pointless shoulda, coulda woulda ideas 3 years after they happened. Also, you say backing Mourinho. Back him and do what? Some of his targets were very uninspiring. Yes, we got Ole after, who has also done a poor job. But this new breed of Mourinho / Ole zealot needs to be monitored on this forum.

Would KDB and Salah have turned out the same if they stayed though? They clearly needed the move away to grow and become the players they are now. Mourinho did win the PL again with Chelsea after them two left. Mourinho decided to stick with the players that were more ready made at the time i.e. Hazard, Willian, Oscar and Schurrle, and it worked out for him winning the PL title.

What makes it any difference ? You guys still won nothing without his target , his target couldn't do any worse.Keeping the players he wanted to get rid of brings you what ? I bet Rangnick target will be very uninspiring knowing he prefer to shop from lesser league for unknown cheap players you all would be mad if it was Jose who wanted them. Let's be honest , none of the fans knows football better than Jose , you guys should just sit down , trust his decision who to buy and who to get rid of. United is in the mud because they didn't listen. Having to recruit Maguire for 80m when he was available for 40m when Jose wanted him was one of the example , could have saved and earn much more money if only they listen instead. United was trying to save money by not backing jose , but end up losing more. Back then before covid you could have sold Pogba for 150m , 30m for martial , 30m for Shaw , bought Maguire for 40-50m , not sacking Jose for 20m so that's around 250-270m potential earning / saving were lost because your board was thick. Deep inside , someone within your board must have realized how dumb it was for not listening to jose , that's why you guys hire Rangnick to be consultant next season because your board is too dumb to think and decide about football, i won't be surprised if Rangnick ends up doing what Mourinho wanted to do , selling the players he wanted to get rid of.

Just like pep failed to groom sancho who ends up worth over 70m or fergie failed to groom pogba who you guys have to bought back for record signing ?
Yeah nobody cares if other manager was the one failing to groom potential talent , people only talk about salah this kdb that.

The question was not whether he could win the title. The poster was talking about Mourinho in the context of him weeding out the losers from the winners, when he clearly has a history on losing gems he already had. So anything to do with trusting Mourinho with a young player is silly to state.

Fergie wanted to keep Pogba and he was 17 then. He came through the academy and such things happen when the player doesn't want to wait. Similar with Pep and Sancho who left despite Pep wanting to keep him.
Salah and KDB were not Chelsea academy products and unlike Pogba and Sancho, they were in their twenties when they were bought by Chelsea. But go on comparing apples to oranges to try and cover the fact that Mourinho is the last person one should rely on in terms of young players. He was a brilliant manager but a terrible judge of potential in young attacking players mostly.

I reserve my pop's for Martial mostly, he's infuriating and it's all down to his mentality, which for me is the worst kind of career wastage.

What's your end game on this forum? Unless you're a shill for Jose himself, I think it is quite lame to join up on fan forums of clubs Jose has been sacked in. I'm guessing you are also on the Spurs fan forum dishing out the same rhetoric.

Anyway, tell us, what brings you here?

9 years of mistakes, They are not good to play in our system or dont have the right skill and mentality but most of them are on top salaries. That is our issue on top of not having good coaching setup.

This should change first and we all know who are those pllayers not good for us

Hope Ralf reset the system and form a team of fighters play for the club

Who’s this ‘we’. Seems half the peoplewho frequent this forum hate any of our players dependant on their last several performances. So I’d say leave it to the experts, back the manager and have a little faith in his ability. I’m happy to see the back of Woodward, so we hopefully finally get some football experts calling the shots over a finance expert.

Initial point was good.
Response to derision was strong.

I happen to agree with your thoughts and general idea of the board being blunderous floundering fools. It's no small matter the 200+ million you point out in possible savings. Instead we have stupid contract decisions being made in order to protect player value on a balance sheet. See: Jones, Rojo, Mata, Matic etcetera etcetera. Then there are the inflated desperation contracts handed out over the years.

All in all a plethora of errors compounded one after the other. Outright embarrassing for a club of our repute and stature.

Elanga has the ability to replace Martial no doubt having watched him closely the last 3 years.. but the step up from youth football is tough and having confidence to express yourself alongside Ronaldo Bruno Rashford and Sancho needs not just talent, but confidence. I hope he can reproduce the many outstanding performances I've seen at youth and u23 level

Exactly. Mourinho doesn't "sniff out winners", he picks random players to isolate and bully (e.g. Shaw, Dele Ali, Pogba, Mata, Matic).

Had high hopes when he signed and following his debut but never lived up to his potential and don't think he ever will.Roy Keane was right, time to move him on.

Martial has what 2 starts this season!

It’s not really about football talent or work ethic at this stage. The squad is huge, the academy has planty of talented kids. It’s a business and he is on too big of a wage to be a fringe player.

Tony should 100% move on before he becomes the next Lingard, and United should 100% sell him before he becomes the next Lingard. (Sorry Jesse)

I disagree on the grounds that Lingard was better at West Ham than Martial has ever been in England.

Who can say Salah had the drive or consistency when he met them though, I agree that you can't say someone who doesn't have it at one point in time will never have it, that can't be true just by different players track records.

But also, is the Mourinho clearly just an act at this point? He gets a bumper contract, then turns "toxic", leaves, gets paid off a lot to leave, goes to another team and its rinse and repeat.

Too much excuse for other managers , Mourinho also have excuse for Salah , is that he never actually sold him out from Chelsea because a sacked manager can't possibly sell a player. I could name plenty of young players who flourish under jose. the guy won 25 trophies under many different club and that means with many young players as well.

Fergie and Pep wasted young potential talent regularly but no one cares about it because English media went on blaming the player instead of them saying it's the player who wanted to leave, while when it comes to mourinho they blame Mourinho instead of the players saying he was the one getting rid of them
It's very obvious how different the narrative was depends on who the manager is ,only thick people fall for it.

Back to Martial , Mourinho was spot on , and you guys should have gotten rid of him earlier instead of giving him 250k p/w

it's not that Mourinho didn't rate Martial and Pogba, he rates them, highly. But talent alone without consistency is not good enough for a team who aspire to win titles , this is what fans don't understand and keep saying Mourinho is ruining talent, it's not that mourinho didn't like young players, but he knows young players , most likely has an issue with consistency. With the likes of Fellaini, manager knows what they are going to get with him ,it's consistent 5-7/10 every game, but with martial or pogba you never know whether it's 2/10 or 9/10, most of the time it's 2/10, you shouldn't rate player based on youtube compilation because it would only show the 9/10 part not 2/10. Manchester United board works based on popularity , since they care more about twitter likes than results and that's how both martial and pogba managed to outlast mourinho.

You're only right about the "only thick people fall for it" part in your post as can be seen by your constant defending of Mourinho's track records for young players.
Please give examples of which young players has Mourinho nourished and helped them reach their potential before you compare him to the likes of Fergie. Only an absolutely Mou fanatic would even think of suggesting that those two managers are anything similar when it comes to handling of younger players, but you do you

This is very strange though, I also hear them linked to Halaand  I don’t know how they are linked with all of those and as we hear they have very big debts and huge financial issues.

0 trophies with the players you consider inspiring, rather trust the uninspiring one instead, at least they wouldn't be hard to move away if they failed

it's not that Mourinho didn't rate Martial and Pogba, he rates them, highly.

If this is true, he just wants to play the game regularly. It’s World Cup year and he doesn’t want to miss out. I hope him stay to fight for his place in the team. He can offer different things the others can’t.

If you mean strolling around looking disinterested then yes. I cannot think of a player more unsuited to our new style of play, and for whatever reasons generally one that has failed to fullfil his promise. Time to go.
