I'm not gonna bother posting a news article to this story since it will be in Icelandic and google translate won't help you.

Basically in Kolgrafafjörður all these fish, herring to be precise, swam to shore and offed themselves. The numbers are believed to be a few hundred tonnes (for you non standard unit people, a tonne is 1000kg. That's a lot). Obviously scientists are puzzled and they're working on it. A specialist said it was unlikely that they did this because of low oxygen levels in the sea. They also ruled out that Orcas scared them on land.

Not much else too this besides the amazing picture of it all.

If that wasn't a satisfying piece of news, apparently, according to a new study, one third of Americans believe that all the recent natural disasters are because the Apocalypse is near and of course the majority of that third are Christians.

Please don't ask me how to pronounce Kolgrafafjörður and try to refrain from any reference to volcanoes.

first picture does look rather dodgy.

Its happened in the past with birds and I think even whales all beaching themselvse. One of those things that just happen for some unknown reason.

Though lets go with its a sign the end of the world is near

My guess is that at least a third of the atheists blame the Americans for all this shit.

It's an ideal opportunity to use them to try and cut down the mightiest tree in the forest.

Why aren't there any animals or birds eating the fish ?
There simply aren't any animals there and very few birds. It's also in a fjord where the fishing boats can get to shore so it's a proper mess and very hard to clean. Place smells like, well, rotten fish. Few hundred tonnes of it.
